I'm not sure how ofter this has been discussed, but it seems to me that Poser 5 renders better than Poser Pro, using the same figure, Poser, camera setting, lights, background, etc.  The Poser Pro render just seems to me th be flatter, and less alive and lively.  Any and all suggestis would be welcome on haow to improve this. Looks to me like there's less specularity in poser pro's render engine then P5.. just kick up the specularity a bit?

Personally, looking carefully at them, I prefer the Poser Pro render. The skin is 'softer' and more realistic, I think. The Poser 5 render is just too shiny, too plastic. With a better lit scene I believe this improvement would be even more evident.

Where do you have gamma set? 2.2 (deflaut) maybe move it down to 1.6 or so and then compare again. On my system is the skin is pure texture maps and no shaders, I have to back the gamma down. With shaders, move it higher. Of course that might be my blind eyed personal preferences.

The Pro looks better with the transparency is sharper and the skin-tone is more natural looking.  The contrast could be a little higher to make it 'snap' more, but THAT is what the gamma correction is for.

I guess texture filtering is on for the Pro render, which smooth a little too much compared to the P5 one.
