Subject: waves over rocks

I have seen some scenes where people have waves crashing over rocks and throwing up spray.. and some also just have rocks on a beach where you can see the water flowing over and around it..... How do they do that. Do they use realflow or something like that?

i am looking at it now. Didnt realize that they were just objects and materials. I thought there was some kind of fluid dynamics going on

ok just objects was wrong hehe, not how i meant it..... I never knew that you could get such brilliance from an object until i saw the ones on that page. I figured that in order to get that effect, it would take loads of processing power to run some fluid calculations with the objects that the water was reacting too

if you want EXPENSIVE fluid dynamics go for Realflow(;   if you want gorgeous stuff for Vue with LONG ASS RENDER TIMES...go for the SeaVue.If you want nice premade Realflow stuff for Vue go for forester..

You may also opt to use brushes like ones for Photoshop.  I personally prefer the postwork approach as it is faster than having to render it.  Plus, it gives me more control over the wave materials.  Check out the 2d area here at Rendo and look under brushes.  There are lots for creating water effects.
