Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 25 4:22 pm)
Poser doesnt normally load a seperate head for the figures . You load V4 and that gives you the basic V4 , then you load Morph poses to change her shape , and material poses to change the textures . (mor and mat poses)
It sounds like your installation of v4 is not complete , you should get an entire figure with all body parts and a default pink skin.
Victoria 4 should be installed to the poser7 folder like
c:/program files/curious labs/ poser 7
anything in the Figures library should load a figure , the Pose library loads morphs, materials or positioning poses.
Please post again if this didnt help :)
This morning, I went again through the files and all in a sudden I discovered the system. Victoria 4 is loaded, albeit not everything arrived in it's p;roper place. However, I have placed all zip files in a separate map on an external harddisk.
In any case I see some progress and that the learning cruve is manageable.
I thank the community for their advice and most of all for their free stuff. When I am getting better, I wiil definately buy.
Sincere Regards,
Robert
**V4 should install to the application runtime , and NOT to an external runtime if possible. There are a couple of special folders that V4 MUST have available or it doesnt work properly.
If you can load v4 I would reinstall it to the poser 7 runtime. The daz installers should put everything in the right place if the install path given it is
c:/program files/e frontier/poser 7 or wherever your Poser 7 was installed .

That is quite correct, I have to find out bit by bit how the prgram works. Just by experimenting I discover again and again new facts and figures. But indeed I started to program the downloading
as you described. So Victoria works and I have another female character to play with.
The "help" issue in Poser is pretty hopeless, as is with most "help" programs.
This forum does a lot, I am glad I can join it.

Since I am totally new to the Poser scene, I have everything to learn by experience. I have now retracted V4 from Daz and as a result I have an opening figure. Black, w/o feet, hands and head.
I have downloaded a number of heads, but to no prevail. I could exchange the body of V4 for the beautiful shape of Nea but neither head will settle on her slender neck.
So far, my biggest problem is the arangement and alignment of the files. So I have a now headless figure. I tried to sort out in the sticky's if there was any item handling this problem.
For ten days I am trying to absorb the basics of Poser. I work with P7 which works fine for the original Poser characters. Sixus works well as do a number of toons in which I am not particularly interested.
There is nothing in the material room, I have a few beautiful heads, like Carenza's, but they all fail plainly to load.
If someone would be so kind to help me out, I would be very grateful.
