Subject: Easy P6 materials question

indigone ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2008 at 7:12 AM · edited Thu, 09 January 2025 at 7:05 AM

If I've set up a material for V4's torso, how can I quickly copy it to other material zones, or better yet, create a dynamic link to it in P6 so that I don't have to twiddle each one?

Thank you.

Just right click, 'select all', 'copy'. Then go to the other shader domain you want, right click, 'paste'. :)

Perfect, worked like a charm, thank you :)

:)

'Remove detached node' on the right panel to have a clearer material window ^^

better still, pick up shader spider from Daz.. one of it's options is copy to all, another option is to set up material groups withint the figure, so you can, say, copy to all the skin materials at once. shader spider is one of my must have poser tools!

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

And the partial shader thingie is just wonderful!

Ohhhh nice.  (Such a noobie).  Now, let's say I go back into Photoshop and update my texture maps.  Is there a quick way to have Poser re-sample the textures?

In the top bar, 'Render', 'reload textures' :)

Thank you.

There is, also, the "Apply to all..." option* on the pop up menu in the Material Room that can be used.

I actually did find that one on my own, and was hoping it was "apply to all .... that are like me already"  Nope.  V4 had a face on her tummy.  Vincebagna had it right, I just wanted it on certain material zones, and was able to do it quickly.

Thanks again, I've been using Carrara for a while and wanted to learn the basics of Poser.  The user interface is so intuitive to me (especially the light setup little jobbie, sheesh, simple yet so helpful).  I had been using Poser 6 only as a utility and wanted to see what it would render.   But then I was getting stumped by the simplest of tasks.  I'm not sure I'm ready to compose an entire scene yet, or buy into any plugins, but it was sure nice to get one set of materials on V4. :)
