This afternoon I realized what the problem was with my eyebrows. She's elven. I was thinking human. DOH! Once I got past that "has to be white human brows" thinking, this is what I came up with. I think it works. I'm happy with it, she's a LOT happier with it and now we can move on to wardrobe and props (don't ask me why but she's insisting on a peacock tail crown with a sapphire as the central stone - I think I've created a monster here *g*) Dress is Uthena's Dress by Wynter Dress Texture is from Raven's Loft Hair is by Mehndi Ulcer is by Poser *grin, wink) Kate

she is beautiful...I love her nose! :)

Bia ( ) posted Thu, 21 June 2001 at 10:51 PM

what is the url for raven's loft? I haven't ever been there and I couldn't find it in a search. Thanks :)

Have to agree with Bia.... She is beautiful, Kate... *=) The eyebrows are wonderful, IMO... If you had used natural brows, she would have that fantasy element...I know from experience making brows for a texture can be one heck of a job.... Unless you like all your textures to have pencil thin brows or even worse the Joan Crawford Caterpillars...*heh Good work!!! ^Cindy

Crap.. I meant "If you had used natural brows, she 'wouldn't' have that fantasy element"... Wishing I had the option to edit my goofy posts.. *sighs

Forgot to mention that the skin and face textures are the Vicky2 textures from DAZ. I just modified the eyebrows and that little doohickey on the forehead.

Nice work Kate. ;]

Thanks, y'all, I'm really proud of her. I have a few more like her to put together yet, though. :)

sparrowheart ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 4:02 AM

Kate, she is simply gorgeous and hauntingly otherworldly. I think the peacock feather crown would be a wondrous addition too :) I have to applaud Uthena on that dress texture, by the way. And the eyebrows you painted were the masterstroke! Kimberly

KateTheShrew ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 4:14 AM

Don't you just love Uthena's textures? She just knocks me over with them. As for the eyebrows, I was tearing my hair out trying to give her "real" ones to match that hair until it dawned on me she didn't need them. Thank goodness I'm a dingbat junkie. I just knew all those fonts cluttering up my hard drive would come in handy one day. grin Kate (taking a day off before tackling the male version - OY, is THAT gonna be a project!)

Foxhollow ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 6:23 AM

Oh yeah, Kate! The eyebrows are just right... "Out of disaster comes perfection!" :)

lalverson ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 6:52 AM

I'd say you are onto somethig here and glad to see you solved out your eyebrow delemma. She looks very exotic and well done, a nice even eligant look, like a princess way down the line in the family. eligant but kinda normal looking for the rest of her race. Now, work her in an image and see how she acts. Standing in the dark as she is works but there could be more.

KateTheShrew ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 9:36 AM

Oh absolutely, lalverson. I have plans for several images with this little gal, just haven't had time to get them done yet. Your comment about the princess look really makes my day since I was going for a regal type of look for her. Now, as soon as my Vue 4 comes in I'll be rendering like crazy :) Kate

Greywolf Starkiller ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 9:55 AM

Good Lord! She could be Princess Aisllynn from my stories. Heh. Everything looks good, except in Aisllynn's case, the forehead mark is an eight pointed star. :) Thanks Kate. You just showed me that I CAN do my characters in Poser. I had wondered about that. I assume I can get the star and other Guardian symbols by drawing them on a transparent layer above the main layer? Not too familiar with PSP yet. Anyway, excellent job! Greywolf

KateTheShrew ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 10:03 AM

Greywolf, that's precisely what I did. Both the eyebrows and the forehead mark are from my collection of font dingbats (knew they'd come in handy one day g). Just put them on a transparent layer and moved them around until they were where I wanted them. Gotta love layers. :) Kate

Poppi ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 10:56 AM

What a great little character you have here. I can't wait to see the crown and her male counterpart ;) Pop...pop...Poppi!

Bia ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 11:14 AM

bummer, can't seem to connect to raven's Loft at ThorneWorks to see textures.... tried a few times over a period.

Uthena ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 6:36 PM

hey guys. i don't know what the heck is up with the site. maybe thorne forgot to pay the bill lol. as for that dress texture, I'm glad you like my textures...but that is one I've never seen before LOL!

KateTheShrew ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 8:48 PM

Well, shoot, that's where I thought it came from. There's no readme in the zipfile (which is called TransmapUthena.zip) so I simply assumed it was one of yours, Uthena. Now I'm wondering who really did it. Oh, and btw, the UDress2.zip is missing or misspelled or something on your site - it's the only one I can't download. :) Whoever made that texture needs to speak up, cuz it's awesome work and we need to know who are great texture makers are. :) Kate

KateTheShrew ( ) posted Fri, 22 June 2001 at 8:55 PM

Just got back from doing a search of the freestuff and CAZCIE made the texture on the dress. My apologies for the mix-up (now y'all know why you should stick a read me in the zipfile grin). Kate
