Subject: wysteria and princess hair

I realize that the hair on the WIP that Kate the Shrew is working on is almost the same, or the same as the Princess hair with wysteria, which I own. I can't get it to conform to wysteria's head at all...am I missing something or does this hair not conform? kate, did you use it with a vicki type map and if so did you pose it by hand or does it conform? And if so....what am I missing. When I try to hit conform to...there is no option to conform to the head, only to the bikini bottom! Thanks for any help...:)

Bia, that IS the princess hair that came with wysteria. It doesn't conform because it's only a prop. You have to fit it by hand. What I did with the full length view was a little cut and paste work (I did two renders - one with the character and one with the character invisible with just the braid showing). Once they release the full version (Mehndi says it should be soon) we'll have the conforming hair. I can't WAIT for that and I'm still wondering what the hold up is here. (Looks over my bifocals at the people in charge of the store). Kate

*smiles* Actually, the full version is NOT a conforming figure at all. It is a posable figure, much like any other posable figure, every part can be moved, unlike the free prop that came with Wysteria. However, it will not conform, since that created strangeness in certain poses on my tests. I chose instead to have people "parent" one figure to the head of the other. I have a full explanation of the differences between the hair on Wysteria, and the Hair about to be released in the UltraSalon Hair at this thread: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=325120

Thanks for clearing that up, Mehndi. You know how easily senile old babes like me get confused. wink I still tend to mix up "conforming" and "poseable." You think one of these days I'll get the two straightened out? :) Kate (the almost senile but still a babe)

me too Kate...not to worry. But, I even tried to parent the princess hair with wysteria and couldn't do that so I was feeling pretty stupid because I thought one would be able to do one or the other. Unless, I missed something, it doesn't parent to anything either. (sigh) and Thanks Mehndi for posting!

geeze, how did I miss those posts about the hair! Curious. But I will be buying it too! LOL! Can't wait! Seems like between this hair and the total hair complete package, one doesn't need much else to play with for hair! Thanks for the hard work to all you guys out there who model! I just love it.

Ah Bia, parenting the hair with Wysteria is easy :) It is NOT conforming though, so that does not do it. Select the hair, then from the bottom dropdown menu, select "body". Then go up to "object" and select "properties". In the properties popup box, select Parent, and then parent the hair to Wysteria's head :) Or another character's head. However, in the default scenes that came with her, it is already parented :)

do you mean that in those PZ3 scenes that the princess hair will load with the scene. if thats the case then I have a problem because that didn't happen and when i loaded the hair it was off a bit. Then when I changed poses it was way off so i tried to parent it, but, I didn't do that part right I guess. I will try it again (i am still kinda learning this stuff and was never good with things that didn't just apply to the head! LOL). I just went up to set figure parent/and looked for HEAD. But HEAD didn't seem to be in the list anywhere. Well, thanks I will try and post if I get it or not .

ok ok ok I am an idiot! I couldn't SEE the hair but it was there in a dotted pattern. I am so sorry for being so dense. I test rendered to see what was going on and there it was. LOL! geeze...talk about senility coming too soon! I apologize and I thank you for posting about this to help me. :)

smiles it has a transparency map, if you turn that off, the hair gets VERY ugly. But with it on, you can hardly see it till you render :)
