unlikely, though not impossible. But I had no trouble downloading from Firefox 2 or 3 now

Which page you went to exactly, www.caligari.com ?  or without the www?

Switch browsers, sign up again with different info.
(that would be the quickest solution I can thing of)

Probably not Firefox. I have been using Firefox 3 exclusively, and had no problem with registering and downloading this Truespace.

here are some TrueSpace resources
www.thebest3d.com/caligari

Some tutorials on Dogwaffle+TrueSpace 5.x, still very usable.

I finally decided to try out Caligari TrueSpace and here is my opinion: (I will constrain myself and be as nice and polite as I can because no more than 8 hours of my life were wasted)

1.  I'm sure TrueSpace has many great, powerful, advanced features that could be accessed through a user interface, except TrueSpace doesn't have a user interface... it has a user nightmare.

2.  It's way overpriced.  For TrueSpace to be economically viable they would have to pay me $50/hr to use it, since I couldn't get anything done with it.

3.  If you tell me that TrueSpace just needs getting used to, I will offer you a car with the steering wheel in the trunk and tell you 'it just takes getting used to'.

4.  If you tell me that TrueSpace is free so don't complain, I will tell you 'please take my trash every week... it's free so don't complain!'

ps:  A message to all 3D companies: If you have no skill in human user interfaces please, please leave this field and go into another line of business like farming or selling shoes.

lol

have you ever heard of Blender? same issues. it's a tough start. not on your own, use some good tutorials, really good ones. Then, you might 'get it'. And then you might see the light and end up using this tool like a pro. Like Drew at Reactor Interactive, http://reactorinteractive.net/gallery.html

But I'll give you that - it's not easy even to just find the 'Render' button

dangit..was gonna say the same....;) Btw...the 3d World Issue #107 is out in the US, so you can skip Truespace if you need to, and get Hexagon (which actually has an interface...vs 'inyerface' for Truespace...;) Cost ya about $16, but vs $100+....
