Anyone know how to  make a high altitude image for air craft like in the link?

Ok. I used the Glasgow atmo and raised the camera above teh cloud line and adjusted the cloud cover. It's a start..

I also can't get the link to work, it says "bad request".

He is talking about this picture: http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_6_infinite/images/flying.jpg
There was an error in the URL code.

This is not high altitude type picture, it's just over the clouds but yes you have to optimize your atmosphere for a realistic look over the earth from high above.

There are a couple of presetscenes for these over-the-clouds shots.

There's a scene that comes with Vue which I think is exactly the same cloud layer. It's called "Above the clouds", in the "Samples 1" folder.

In fact, I think the author of this new image only replaced the airplane and nothing more. The cloud configuration is exactly the same and even the camera slant is the same.

M262 but what's the big aircraft??
and is that the "glider bombs" used by Heinkel's against shipping under it's wings or modified V1 jet bombs? :)

The bigger planes are Nachtjagers, Germany's attempt at jet bombers.  The facility where they were being developed was captured by the Americans in 1945 and the planes were shipped to the US for study.  I do not think that they ever saw combat.  The bombs are unknown.  But they look cool.
