I am so, so sorry :-(  he looks like he was indeed a very loving and happy companion

we just got the call from the Vet.. a wonderful wonderful woman called Mary Rouke who cared for Billy last night..

it was a liver tumor. very hard to spot and he wouldn't have shown much in the way of pain etc while it was forming. Last night, around, we think 1 am, it burst. He did'nt suffer or feel anything. there was nothing we could do for him.

I'm inept at saying anything meaningful here....
My eyes are full of tears, this is so sad.

Myself also. Even if late, I wish to say I am sorry to hear this. Always remember the good times and they will never truly be gone.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

What Incarnadine said... Ditto x2  I know what it's like to lose an animal companion. Take heart. When you remember the good times., that's when you know they're near.

I can't say what I think thanks to the language censors here. I lost two Siamese cat sisters at 16 years, one died, the other then went crazy like Ophelia.

Remember the many happy years you had together. But try not to project his personality onto any future animal, they are all unique.

Sorry about mouthing off, have to stop since my eyes are tearing up a bit.

Having lost both Shadow, our dog of 8 years, and Smokey, our cat of 11 years,

both in the last 6 months... I do know what it is like for you right now.

My sincere condolences on the loss of your friend. He has a beautiful peaceful face. It is a great loss but time will heal the hurt and keep the good memories I find.. ...

 

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
