Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Is this on Vista?
You might try right clicking your Poser shortcut and clicking Run as Administrator.
That will allow Poser to run in a higher profile account.

Vista doesn't like "non-program" files in the Program Files path (such as content), and I'm guessing that causes people a lot of problems.
You could try turning of UAC, but that was put in as an extra layer of protection against malicious content.
I run Poser on my Mac, but for my Vista machine and programs like this (that store everything in the program files path) I go to the program executable, right click, properties, compatibility tab, At the bottem under priviledge level check the check box run this program as an administrator.

Just tried to run it as administrator and it still gives the same error message. I have also cleaned out the registry and done a fresh intall - still same error.
It seems like Poser (Poser.ini?) is looking for a specific path in order to find Libraries. Anyone who has overcome this error, I'd be very grateful for the information .

You could try running a full install (running the install as administrator).
Or turning off UAC before you install it.
You turn off UAC here ->
Control Panel -> User Account and Family -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Protection On/Off -> uncheck the box and reboot.

To run the install as administrator you don;'t allow the autorun to run (if you have a boxed version).
Navigate to the installer for Poser7
Run the installer by right clicking -> Run as Administrator

I've uninstalled my old Poser 7 as I've been having problems in the material room since installing SR3.
Now, when I launch Poser 7, I get an error message saying 'Libraries Folder cannot be found or created'. Yet when I look in my Runtimes folder, it's there.
Any ideas anyone?
