Subject: Came up with interesting"Post work" routine :)

On my latest pic, Vue this time (been messing with Mojoworld for a bit), I was trying to see what interesting looks I could do in post work.

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1741715

Well, came up with this :)

First plugin I ran in Paint SHop Pro (much same as Photoshop, uses exact same plugins)

Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0, used the "Brilliance & Warmth" effect
Brilliance at 70%, Warmth at 90%

Making this look like a hot, desert scene so upped them a lot.

Second plugin is
"Xero", and it's "Clarify" effect, at default.

Combination seems really nice on some pics! :)

Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0, iirc, I got that with my Camera, Fuji FinePix s20 Pro  (which is, alas, now not working, gah!).
http://www.niksoftware.com/index/usa/entry.php?
But cna be bought seperate, it's in the Standard Edition which is $100 (man, don't plugin prices suck ASS?!  sigh)

And Xero is from http://www.xero-graphics.co.uk/set2/clarity.htm
Free!

Not only am I a Vue addict, I'm also a photoshop plugin junkie...lol! :)

hey silverblade,

lol why so many programs? Why not just PS :S ?

By the way, for 2 years I had digital vibrancde on, which is a function that enhances the monitor's colors greatly and i didn't even knew it lol, so when I found what it looks like without - blergh! But this brings a warmth in your pics that only otherwise 1000dollar monitors would :)

Well, I preffer PaintSHopPro to Photoshop, by a mile ;)
But, Photoshop does have features PSP doesn't have...

Mojoworld is great, except the method for actually working on "deeper structures" is bloody CRAP, sigh.

Zbrush3 interface sucks balls, which is a pity as i'ts otherwise awesome.

I also bought Lightwave and XSI...alas, I'm too damned sick to learn 'em all :/

uses Goggle-Fu skills ot chekc on DIgital Vibrance"
Ah!! that's what it is :)
like Saturation control? except...it tends otover blow images, hm.

I run Photoshop and Paintshop Pro; the former for it's sheer power and the latter for it's speed and simplicity.  I mentioned this on a photographic gallery when I posted some work a few years back.  I got the most unbelievable, unsolicited email from some trainspotter* DEMANDING to know why I dared to use both programmes........

Watch out Silverblade, Photoshop addiction has no known cure, and you will risk everything for just one last plug-in download......:)

  • Not sure if the use of the word "trainspotter" as a pejorative really travels well.  It's a Brit thing, I suspect.

My self-build system - Vista 64 on a Kingston 240GB SSD, Asus P5Q Pro MB, Quad 6600 CPU, 8 Gb Geil Black Dragon Ram, CoolerMaster HAF932 full tower chassis, EVGA Geforce GTX 750Ti Superclocked 2 Gb, Coolermaster V8 CPU aircooler, Enermax 600W Modular PSU, 240Gb SSD, 2Tb HDD storage, 28" LCD monitor, and more red LEDs than a grown man really needs.....I built it in 2008 and can't afford a new one, yet.....!

My Software - Poser Pro 2012, Photoshop, Bryce 6 and Borderlands......"Catch a  r--i---d-----e-----!"

Paul,
/agrees!
I'ts os much simpler/easier to do things in PSP, but PS still has some features it doesn't plus Ifind it's brushes far smother in action.

Well, I preffer calling folk like that "w**nkers", but I sure know what you mean ;)

Martin Murphy made amazing pictures with Bryce, 10 years ago, that STILL look like awesome works of ar,t in fact, one of his, hm, like 3 nymphs around a column? is sitll, IMHO, as good as a classical masterpiece.

The program doesn't matter a DAMN, it's what you can do with it, that counts. Blender, Bryce, Vue, Poser, maya...doesn't matter, only what you create with it. ;)

note my Location: Haggis Central :p

I Love Paint Shop Pro and have used it as my primary image package for more than 10 years. I do have PS too, but find there is very little it does that cannot be done in PSP.   In my opinion the only thing PS is better at is promotion.  PSP Is still under $200 and does it all.

I also far and away prefer CorelDraw to Adobe Illustrator.  Things I can do in one click in CD take several in AI and are far more frustrating.  Adobe also has the irritating habit of moving all the tools around between releases, thus killing the learning curve and the 'getting back to to work' time.  With PSP and CD, it's upgrade and go.

I love Poser, but hate the interface. I'd rather be able to arrange the little menus MY WAY (the tool menu that will only go horizontal. .  and the dials are a wicked pain) but I like the results.

Vue is becoming my favorite for rendering.  I still have trouble bringing in certain Poser models. (Dynamic cloth is a real painful process), but  the lighting can't be beat.

My 3D life started back in the 90s with RayDream.

Ok sorry to jump in . . .  I like those filters posted up top there.  Thanks!

sigh, more plugins to download and install, and then later wonder what they do, and why the heck I downloaded them....
