Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 12 6:08 pm)
Regarding inflating props: You turn off smoothing for individual props in its properties
I have no problems running the script multiple times - I do it every time I change lights. So I cannot help there
It also does not turn off or negate the AO I set on other props, figures or lights.
The bad texture warning is usually a sign of lack of memory. Depending on how much you have in the scene it might have to do with the render settings. Be sure to use the external renderer, this will easy your memory requirements when rendering. Also do not use the Automatic Render settings - use the advance ones and do not set the raytrace bounce, pixel samples and irradiance caching too high if your scene is complex.
Other possible cause for running out of memory in Poser is if you have theTexture resolution in the Preview mode set too high - lower it to 512 if you have problems
*I tried to get into the physicalc software forums, but you have to be admin approved, lame, and nobody has approved me, and I am getting frustrated with this apparent waste of money.
I get almost 500 new "bot" users per day and if they are auto-approved, I end up with a board full of threads pointing to inappropriate material.
*When I run it it blooms props (inflates them)- which I have seen elsewhere that a fix is turn off smoothing- but I don't want to turn off smothing.
If you are looking for realism renders, having smoothing on is a must. Just use Winvdb's suggestion above.
*-I can't run the script more than a few times before it gives me a bad texture warning or something to that effect- it kills all of the memory, can't load texture- I have 2 gig of ram- really, it should be enough.
I haven't had this problem reported before. Could you provide the exact error you are getting? A screen-dump would be ideal.
*-It negates, or turns off my ratraced shadows.
The script doesn't change any shadow settings
*-it turns off or negates my AO
Are you referring to material-based OA or light-based. It will remove your AO material nodes when it applies the new node setup, but doesn't change the light-based AO settings in any way.
*-it says you are supposed to be able to run the script numerous times and it will update the figure- it does not, or sometimes does, then when I think I have the right settings, I save it- only to find the appearance changed when I reopen poser to render.
This sounds like your scene is corrupt (and would also explain a lot of the other problems you are having). Start with a new scene and it will work fine. I've had cases where I've loaded a poorly written figure or material file, saved the scene and re-loaded it, and there is a corruption in the save file. Unfortunately starting the scene again seems to be the only answer (and don't use figure or props that have errors embedded in them).

hello- I just recently purchased the faceoff V4 Skin Realism Kit from daz. I tried to get into the physicalc software forums, but you have to be admin approved, lame, and nobody has approved me, and I am getting frustrated with this apparent waste of money. This is by far, at least for me, the worst operating python I have ever bought.

Has anyone else had these problems, any, or similar. I posted here as well as daz, but I like the forums here much better, thanks to anyone that has any advise. I very recently did a full pc reformat, and have Poser 7 with SR3.
