Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
I wanna be the first to say I'm over it. I dont care if M4 is the greatest thiing since that proverbial loaf of sliced bread: I no longer care. We all know that support will fade to nothing after release, and then we'll have to badger DAZ again. It's just not worth it anymore.

That's pretty much my attitude as well.
I will certainly "Not" be shelling out any $$s for the Typical Daz M4 Bundle and all the xtras, only to see No Support a month later.
ApolloMaximus fills the bill just fine for me, even if Anton doesn't release an AM 2008 version.

Quote - Well, sure m4 will be great, but Apollo 2008 will be better for sure, and free.
And another wonderful thing aboput Apollo is the dedicated Artists, such as you, that have supported Apollo through Thick and thin.

Meh....I have David, and the Sixus males....so I don't see a need for Mike. Never used his earlier versions (though I do have M2) so don't see myself worried about needing M4.
I just need to get through the kitchen remodel project so I can get back to making Poser goodies again.....
Crazy alien chick FTW! (yeah....right....)
Realm of Savage - Poser
goodies and so much more!

The Sixus males look like they have been beaten very severely with the ugly stick, eeww. P5 Judy's long-lost brothers maybe ?
Quote - odes look like david from the side. wonder if they fixed the body which was the biggest problem with m3
M3 looked like a giant praying mantis. M2 looked a whole lot better, don't know why they didn't stick with his figure. Of course, it almost goes without saying that Apollo is streets ahead in this respect.
What privledges. All that's there is speculation. Members teasing each other over something that is just speculation.
Does anyone really care anymore when M4 ken doll shows up? The only thing that you can rely on is A lot of Daz hype for a couple of years before anything happens and the installers won't work on the initial release on a late Friday night. ( que in Britney song)
The speculations guess Oct. for PC anniverary.
I suppose ti depends on when you had your membership. I was in the PC when I was a mod at PoserPros, and there were times when the 1.99 was worth it. But now, looking at the available merchandise, for me there's not a whole lot I'd be willing to pay that membership fee for. I suppose it all depends on what you want from this program.
As for M4, as I wrote over in the DAZ forum, I just wish Farr & Co would simply fess up that they have little interest in that side of things and that they'd really rather be working on a new breast morph for V v5. Frankly, I just dont care anymore. The DAZ meshes are so hi-poly that they're virtually unusable for animation work, and even for still studies they've turned into such resource hogs that I really cant be bothered anymore putting up with the time needed just to load the damn thing in.
So whatever they do, I'm sure there will be the usual throngs of fanboys telling DAZ what a great place it is. Me, I no longer care either way. They had their shot, but I've moved on because I know they simply dont give a rats behind for a customer that isnt into their increasingly niche-oriented wares..

He looks good to me. But I bet he won't muscle up like the mil figures did. He'll probably be a bit smooth and puffly like V4. Hope I'm wrong. Hope I can make a real body builder out of him.
Love esther

Well, I'm taking a wait and see approach.
It's a different Poser market than it was with the release of M3 and for that matter David. When there was little to no support for those figures it had major impact on the figure's useability. But with the advent of the various clothing converters and the Texture convert for M4 (released prior to the figure), non-modelling/non-texturing users of M4 are not going to be completely stranded with no options.
in real life men don't need as many clothes and shoes as women anyway.

'm sorry, but I no longer accept that lame excuse And that's just what it is: an increasingly lame excuse to ignore a very vocal market segment that has been pretty studiously written off. Of course male stuff doesnt sell -- because there really isnt any! Truly, how long has it been since anything -- for Michael, Hiro, or David -- showed up? And please, dont tell me its because everyone's waiting on M4. That excuse ran out months ago.
Face it, the merchants just dont like having to think beyond skimpy little dresses, impractical armour, and yet another bikini set. It's a harsh reality, but it's true. And yes, they sell - because they're all that're offered. Yeah, different stylings every now and then, but it's all the same stuff, over and over again.
So sorry, but that whole "men dont need as much as women" really doesnt pan out anymore. Were we to accept that, one would have to ask, just how many bikinis do women need anyway?

I'm not sure I wan't to shell out the money for another daz character. Then they are going to release the ++morphs, the hiro expansion, and all that later.
So unless I get apollo or something, I'm going to be stuck rendering cute women...
WARK!

I like apollo, but I need modern day clothes...so, I haven't ever used him:(
I'll just be glad to say adios to M3...he really was lame. I keep him around because there are just some items that are only made for him...and, fully clothed, if you ignore the shoulder problem, he's OK. He just looks goofy when you look at him without a shirt on.....sigh. I wasted so much money on crap for him, lol.
As for M4, I'll be slow to jump in. I will probably stick with david until I'm sure M4 will be reasonably well supported. David's actually a decent figure. Yeah, he's got a lot of poly's, but for what I do, that's not much of a problem.
