I don't know if I'm looking in the right place...couldn't find anything specific, really. I'm going more on suggestion rather than anything else.
Well, to give a good idea, both pieces are going to be either 8x10 or 16x20, or two prints of both, depending on what the client wants...not to mention about 15 hours of work in between the two, as I said before.
Any suggestions for a loose price? I have no idea what to tell him when he comes to give me the frames for them next week. o.o;
Here is one thread where someone asked about pricing:

Thanks so much, Acadia, for that forum!! It helped me learn a lot about doing illustration, even beyond this project.
I've come to the price of about what I thought, $50 per piece. At least, that's what I'm thinking so far. Is that to high/low in anybody's opinion? Like I said, you can go and see the pieces in my gallery, they're the most recent two.
Thanks again, Acadia.

Oh yes, I bought a product specifically to use for this project, so the cost of that - which isn't much at all - will be included.
And I'm EXTREMELY modest...which is why I posted here, honestly. My mother wanted me to check with people in my own line of work to make sure I wasn't being TOO modest and cutting myself short. blush I don't know...I think $50 would be alright.
It just sort of makes me nervous, because he made a comment about how he wondered "if doing so much work would be worth what I'd be getting for it." And I just sort of looked at him funny. Albeit, you know, this is someone I'm sort of friends with, but that doesn't mean I'm going to charge too much less than I should because of it.

I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place, but I could use some help.
I just finished my first two commission pieces - a mix of Poser and Photoshop, they're the two newest in my gallery if you'd like to see them - and they both are for the same buyer. I've never done a commission before, and I don't know what to charge.
Can anyone help me with this?
As far as time consumption, one piece took six hours and the other one took about nine.
If anyone could give me a price range as to what to start out with, minus the printing and framing costs, that would be wonderful.
Thanks so much. =)
