Subject: Moving Characters Between Scenes

I was wondering if it was possible to move a character from one Poser 7 scene to another.  I have a character template scene I have created and I want to add that character to another scene I've been working on.  Do I need to export and import into the new scene or is there a better way to keep all of the morphs and texture setups?

Couldn't you just save the character to the library and then load the character into the new scene?

Or another thing you could do is save the file, and then
use File|Import|Poser Document/Prop

There are two alternatives to this querie, save the character into the library or save it as a pz3 and import the poser document into your new scene.  I use this method when creating individual components for a major scene without cluttering my library with content I'm only using once or twice.

You can merge one scene with another.  It's in the Import menu.  Import>Poser document/prop IIRC.  If you just want the character, delete everything else in scene and save it.

Thanks for all of the responses.  I'll try it tonight when I get home.  Thanks again!

Not everything's get imported though. Just recently, I had one dolly camera that I renamed and parented to a head in Scene A then when I imported it to Scene B, the camera is renamed into Dolly and is no longer parented to the head. It moved further front but my character and its clothes imported well.

Lights are also a problem with the import method.  It's best to delete
all the lights from a scene that you're going to keep around for importing.

A custom light set would be better off saved in the library.  I do agree with ockham, deleting all the lights from the scene to be imported will prevent headaches later.  There is a tendency for poser to import lights along with the character multiplying the illumination beyond what you intended.
