Hey, Bill if you're out there........will you be making Anita available at some point? You mentioned possibly making her into a Poser character a while back........I'd be interested!!!! Anyone else????? Thanks, Krel

Yes she is very interesting and a good looking character, but the only thing I really want from Bill Fleming is my $200 bucks back. That's what I payed for a membership to his 3D Creature Workshop University site and got just 1 month and then it folded. All myself and countless other got after about 6 months of waiting was some crappy trial deal with another graphics site and an equally crappy apology that involved his new child and the fact that he really didn't plan the site well at all. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Maybe you ought to write a letter to the editor of ComputerArts magazine, since he writes a lot of articles for them. I heard about that deal after it folded, but I would have probably scrounged $200 from somewhere to join because it looked so good. Sorry you got bit. Marque

He's a bullshit scam artist who has screwed a lot of people with almost all of his ventures. He's also opposed to messages boards like this because of "rumor mongering".Gee, I wonder why he'd be afraid of that? I have gotten e-mails from Mr. Fleming and his belief is that he's not responsible for the business side of his business!?!?! You're complaints will be deferred to someone who will NEVER answer. There are a few post here at Renderosity about this thief and there were some GREAT ones at the Discreet forums on how much of a thieving bastard he really is. Just keep an eye on your wallet when you mention the name Bill Fleming! and just to make it clear: FUCK BILL FLEMING!!!!!

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 25 June 2001 at 6:33 PM

What's weird is he still has that site up with a note that if you join you only get 1 month free or something like that. I would never trust him. Marque

I bought one of his books and it crashed my computer, maxed my credit cards, filled my beer cooler with Zima, knocked up my wife and taught my kids to smoke. Then it replaced all my good 3D books with ones by R. Shamms Mortier. "Anita Rampage." Heh. What, did he spend five whole minutes thinking of that one? At least it was longer than he spent plopping Speedy Alka-Seltzer's head on Britney Spears' body.

Well I won't get in on this whatsoever, the only reason I even looked is cause "krel's" name was the postee. I don't even KNOW this Bill Fleming, but I do like the character, even if it actually does look just like duanemoody says, hehe...only in a sexy, cute kinda ways...wonder if she fizzes and gives good bubbles...;-)

I use to love Bill Fleming's stuff. I have Numerous books of his and even purchased other books with forwards by him because I liked his style. I thought I was safe in subscribing to his site and when things started to sour I asked for an explanation. What I was treated to was a rhetoric from some foul mouthed individual. It all basically boiled down to sh*t happens, as far as they were concerned. I have also written letters to 3D World Magazine, where he writes for them, and gotten no reply. I no longer buy any publication if he has anything to do with it. I believe I may be missing some great articles, however there are times when you have to make a stand. I will grow as an artist through involvement with this community and its members. There are enough resources here and brilliant artists, that my thirst for knowledge will never suffer. Thanks for everything Bill, I hope you choke on it.

FWIW the last article of his you "missed" in 3DWorld was a rehash of how to use bump maps to make clothing look rumpled. If you have Smith's Photoshop 5 3D Textures or page 249 of the Poser manual you didn't miss much. We had this chemistry prof in college who continually published tables of data on benzoic acids just so he could appear to be publishing. Even the criminals that publish academic journals got tired of the ruse and told him to do some actual research or flake off (he'd gotten tenure sometime around God's fifth birthday, anyways). I guess what I'm trying to say is that I have yet to find a publication with more pertinent or useful information than you'll find on the Internet when it comes to our particular niche. The last issue of 3DWorld dedicated a lot of space to professional screen captures but not to practical information.

It's good to know that I'm not wasting my money then. :)

Krel ( ) posted Tue, 26 June 2001 at 5:55 AM

Gee, that's a shame......his work looks great, but if he's as dishonest as you guys say then we can't trust him with our money........ Krel

Angel Michael ( ) posted Tue, 26 June 2001 at 9:14 PM

Put it this way Krel, I'm trying to be as polite as possible about all of this.
