Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 15 4:06 am)
My all-purpose answer: Change OpenGL to Sreed for display. :)
C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the
foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg
off.

Hi,
Is poser just locking up or does does poser close to desktop when you move the mouse to adjust a camera, figure or prop?
If poser is closing to desktop because of you moving the mouse one fix is to use SreeD for your preview but you can also go into the Nvidia control panel>Manage 3D settings and add the Poser.exe to the list of apps, reboot the PC and this should fix many of the problems. I had to use this fix on my rig and it seems to have been the right move.

It's not your resources - I'm running it on V64 with considerably less with absolutely no problems whatsoever.
Did you install Poser with Admin priviledges?
Did you install it on a drive other than 'C:'?
Do you run Poser with Admin priviledges?
Have you updated to SR1?
Have you searched these forums for OpenGL issues with you graphics card?
The answer to all these questions should be 'yes'.

Thanks for the feedback. The answer to all your questions CSpear is yes to all but the last. I will do that now. Wasn't even sure what to look for, so appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.
The program doesn't close. It just locks up. And, it appears to be an intermittent issue. For example, last night, I worked on it fine with no problems.
I'll take a look at the Nvidia card and see if I can get more stability.
thanks again all!

It's your Nvidia openGL driver. Go into render settings/preview and set transperency to actual and multi layer checked and textures to 1024. Should do the trick.

Hello all
I recently installed Poser Pro with Vista 64. After having some problems, I read through the forums to find that I might need to switch of UAC. I did this and reinstalled.
Poser continues to lock up on me and I have to force close it.
I have 4 gigs RAM, a Nvidia 260 graphic card, and am running on a quad core. So, I can't imagine its lack of resources. Any ideas where I should look or what might be going on.
Thanks
