I love using VUE2....but but but...Bryce5 has metaballs (tell me a lava flow wouldn't look cool), and look a TREE GENERATOR...hahahah(laughs hysterically) but VUE4 has that that opengl and drool..look at those palm trees..so real!! I don't know what to do!!! Should I wait till a demo comes out for them!!! But I don't want to wait...I may go through shock, pass out and wake up having ordered both of them..Please help me!!!!

Ah, it is dilemmas like this that make one a stronger person in the long run. Good luck! :)

Nick, my advice is, buy both... So you don't eat for a couple of weeks... What's the big deal... :)

"Go ahead, buy the package.(Vue) You know you want to". - Visual Magic Magazine "Buy it (Vue) even if you don't need it; you're bound to be inspired!" - Computer Arts ;) SMT

I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

I can deny all I want to. I'll probably buy both. But which one first...

Don't forget Bryce will be over $100 ($309) dearer than Vue, and Amorphium is for free next month in the Computer Arts magazine :o)...although I feel that a basic box modeller with mesh smooth would have been better than a metaballs modeller in Bryce :-/ Cheers

Yeah, I was going to suggest Amorphium for a metaball replacement, too. Only in Amorphium they're called "geospheres". Get ahold of the free version of Amorphium if you can, because aside form just the geospheres, it IS a pretty cool little program, and Vue terrains import well into it for modeling, editing, etc, plus it's good for quickly making rocks and other such things. I've seen a few people make some really good models in Amorphium, but it's difficult. But for simple stuff, it's excellent.

Nicholas86 ( ) posted Tue, 26 June 2001 at 6:32 AM

Its not really using the metaballs for modeling I am interested in and I have amorphium already:) but using the metaballs in animation...as I said ie. lava, water, driping faucet, drool, snot, you know the fun stuff...eventually I will end up buying both..just not sure which one first....a note: I was going to buy vue3 but I saw 4 was coming out so I waited...now Bryce5 is coming out..sigh...does the madness ever end....

Varian ( ) posted Tue, 26 June 2001 at 11:18 AM

Oh I can answer that one! Um, no, it doesn't. Sorry. ;>
