Subject: 10 reasons why Bryce is my app of choice....

erosiaart ( ) posted Thu, 25 September 2008 at 10:54 AM

just two reasons that is enough to hook me:

  1. i love bryce.
  2. it keeps me out of trouble.

I'd like to say that your 10 are excellent examples....and also add #11 to that list. This one is clever, funny and executed very nicely!

nazul ( ) posted Thu, 25 September 2008 at 12:24 PM

Well i do agree with all 3 previous.  (thanks dhama for selecting one of mine :-) ) - erosiaart ...really like the part with keeping me out of trouble :-)
What i love the most i think is that bryce has almost endlessly possibilities - and you can express so many different styles - both in figurative and non-figurative. I like that it leaves space for both the beginner and the advanced - the completly abatract nerd and the most photorealistc

I JUST LOVE BRYCE

Hi dhama,
I feel happy for having mentioned one of my works.
Those and so many other, they demonstrate what the imagination can do when allied to a good tool, and in our case, Bryce.
All loved Bryce.
Long life to Bryceanos...

What i love about bryce......

sorry still thinking on it..

hmm nothing come to mind yet, will get back to you on this one.

oh got it, bryce is cheap.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

Here we have a thread about TEN reasons why Bryce is your app of choice. Surely you can do better than that, if not, why answer at all.

ThunderStone ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2008 at 6:06 AM

Here's my reasonings for using Bryce:

  1. It's easy
  2. It's free
  3. It's delightful to see what's in your mind come to life before your eyes, even if you have nothing in your mind to begin with. 😉
  4. It can create landscape that exist only in the realm of imagination.
  5. Can use poser to populate it  (via DAZ Studio).

Okay that's 5 reasons that I can think of at the moment and that's pretty good, considering I've not had my morning beverage yet!

Go take a rest, it really isn't necassary to come into this thread and hijack it because you're having a bad day.

Thandaluz ( ) posted Fri, 26 September 2008 at 10:25 AM

To have preference for a certain tool, he/she doesn't necessarily choose her/it as the best or one of the best.
For me it is a love subject the first view, besides the:
Easiness in the learning,
Still to be one of the tools (amateurs) more used for construction of landscapes,
A place where you can exercise your imagination without a lot of restrictions,
Hundreds of thousands of examples and objects your disposition,
A ton of tutoriais,
The simplicity above all,
A wonderful community (the other ones are also) that is always ready helping you,

Besides everything, I think that Corel used of magic when it built Bryce, he causes an irresistible attraction.
Bryce is a religion, and as such it cannot be discussed.

DAZ should give continuity it is her marvel.

Long life to Bryce.

I agree i need a rest, been selling Antique furniture all day as for coming into this thread and hijacking it well ok if thats what you think so be it, you did ask why we liked beyce so i told you why i like it, its a cheap program which is one reason i liked it and still like it. As for having a bad day well i guess if making $27,000 in  8 hours is your idea of a bad day then yep guess its been a bad day.

anyway here are the real reasons i like bryce..
Its cheap enough for those just starting out with 3d art to afford.
The learning aspect of it is easy enough for a beginner to take a grasp of.
Image you canturn out in it look great even from a new users apect.
There is endless things you can do in the one program where as others you need two to three programs just to turn out one image.
95% of model formats will import into bryce...
.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

Thanks CrazyDawg, I accept your apology. :tt2:

As you said, the learning aspect is actually a good point. If it's easy for my limited brain then thats gotta be good. 😉

I think another good point, is the comfy slippers scenerio (unlike the comfy chair). Something that doesn't require much brain power, unless you're Orbital, Bryster or rj001....jeez, if I could only get my head around creating objects like them.

Amature:
From the Latin "amator:" lover, devoted friend, devotee, enthusiastic pursuer of an objective

Not a bad adjective :-)

CHROME SPHERES OVER WATER!!!

;)
Hey it had to be said, true, ain't it? :)
I loved doing 'em!

Bryce may no longer be my #1, but I loved it to bits at the time.
It's UI style is by far the most pleasant and "believable" to get into, unlike the drop-down-menus-from-hell-only-maths-geeks-like, hehe!

When I was at college, we had MAX3D, amazing what it can do, but you know what? It sucks donkey male hairy spheres, ya know? LOL, very very unpleasant to use, it's NOT an "aretists tool", it's interface totally gets in the way of artistic creativiety, though it could render scenes out in minutes.

(I'm not saying it can't be artistic or that superb work is done with it, just that you have to fight/get used to a crazy UI etc, ick!! Also the £4,000 price tag is just a bad joke! It ain't gold or a new kindey, jeesh :p)

Though I preffer another app now, I'd heartily recommened any newcomers ot try out Bryce 5.5: free, fun, good, WTH is not to like? :)

It is actually a fact that the Bryce base code is designed to disrupt the workflow of anyone who is in the habit of telling dumb jokes!

  1. I don't use it anymore, so it does not tie up my computer rendering for a month at a time.
  2. I can render and say I'm being productive when I'm sleeping.
  3. I'm apart of the local kingdom (Duke if I remember right)
  4. SOW
  5. Its freaking awesome until it crashes.

I've been doing a bit (a lot) more photography than Bryce. I'll work in the app sometime....
