PhilC has one available for sale at his site. You should check out the animations he has on his site using his harpie.

it's reptilian in nature. The type I am looking for is more of the Piers Anthony type described in his Xanth series (and also on the cover of one his books, I believe, Harpy Time?): A human/avian crossbreed with the head and breasts of a lovely woman, the lower body of a fowl, and no arms - bird wings instead.

I'm no expert at this but I think this is how you can make it yourself if you have the Daz Eagle or another real good bird/fowl model. Load eagle and p4 female characters into Poser, turn off IK and zero both, position and scale them relative to one another, hide the parts you don't want and tweak the positioning some more...once you're happy with it, export them both and only check off the parts you wish to keep into the runtimegeometriesP4NudeWoman folder....make sure you export body parts (include figure names in polygon groups)...forgot to mention, you need to make sure that the eagle parts you're going to keep are named the same as the parts they will replace. Load up the P4 nude female CR2 into a text editor, there should be 2 places, one near the top and one a page or so below that points to P4NudeWom.obj in the runtimegeometriesP4NudeWoman folder....since you exported your .obj file into the same folder, you will only need to change the filename to point to whatever you saved it as. If you're going to go ahead and tackle this, you might want to ask Lemurtek for some input as he has made some hybrid characters before...although he may have used his own geometry... You might want to post this request in the character creators forum as well...may find someone who can make it for you or help you in making it. Good Luck!

I have had one of these on my to-do list for quite a while, but it will probably take me a while to get to it. No doubt someone else will make one first, not that I'll let that stop me. You can expect to see a dacort avian harpy within the next couple of months (I hope).

Oh I'd love a harpy like in Harpy Thyme (pun intended of course, it ~is~ Piers Anthony). I was looking for a more bird like harpy as well.

Lourdes - thank you for the instructions, but I (severely) lack time and necessary knowledge to be able to do such. Which is why I utilize and am willing to pay for the talents and creations of such people as dcort & PhilC. ;) PhilC - G Now I'm going to go unpack all of the books I've got stored away to find that particular cover. God help me if I've gotten rid of it LOL To add more to the desciption (maybe?), the character is basically a raptor (or sometimes described as a vulture) bird body with the head and upper breast area replaced with a woman's head and breasts. Their temperament, as well as physical hygiene (?), are also basically described as vulgar and dirty - with the broad meanings of those adjectives in effect. L I don't know if that helps any. ;) LadySilverMage - you are correct - 'Harpy Thyme'. Your memory served you better than mine served me. L

Harpy Thyme has no harpy on the cover, just Gilda the winged goblin and a pegasus. I believe that there is a picture in the Guide to Xanth, I'll check later, unless you find it first. ok ok, So I really really love Piers Anthony but he's a great author and a good person (he was kind enough to write a 2 page letter to my son when my son was assaulted in school and had multiple facial fractures) and I'm only missing 3 books of the Xanth series. Of course I do love a good pun, makes my hubby crazy because I'll be laughing and when I tell hm what's so funny, he just shakes his head in disgust... LOL

yup - I double checked on that one & once again, your memory is better than mine. chagrined G BUT, I do have a book (somewhere - really!) that has a voracious lookin harpy in the style I've described on the cover getting ready to assault a guy (in what manner I'm not sure wink) so I have definitely got to find it now. sigh G I'm big PA fan as well - love the Immortal, Xanth, and Chaos series. If you're in the mood, e-mail my Renderosity addie & let me know what books you're missing. I'm the habit of giving books away to ppl that I know they haven't read yet. :) So it would be my pleasure to supply you with them - after all, they're just takin up space now, tho I would never, never throw them away.
