Subject: Gonna buy new 19' monitor. Any suggestions and opinions??? Please....:)

Hi, i am gonna buy a new desktop, coz i find my Toshiba laptop really tired and strugling with latest Vue projects.  I'd love to ask for the monitor advice, coz going thru zillons of reviews is quite tiring and I think Vue users are the best to ask as I need the best Vue  (and graphic design overall) performance. So.....any ideas???

Make sure the ratio is 1000 to 1.

You mean at least 1000:1?? My Samsung is 3000:1

Iwent fo r the widescreen myself upon my newest monitor purchase, but as Steve says Samsung is nice...and you cant beat widescreen.

Go for wide screen if you can.  I have a two19" monitor setup at home and a 22 inch wide screen monitor at work.  Having one big screen for Vue is much nicer!

Hi,
thahx for answers..just got a quaestion.....is 1440 * 900 enough resolution for 19' ??? i think i cant go for 21' or bigger because of the budget....

Go for the biggest you can. I have a 32 inch full HD myself, @ 1920x1280, it is damn nice for sure, but not at all necessary to have that much for Vue. If you are a gamer and a movie watcher it is of course a boon to have as much real estate as you can afford(;

Go for widescreen and get the biggest monitor you can afford. Personally, I like 24" because they can handle 1080p resolution.

The 1440x900 is a fine resolution for Vue, however, bigger is always better and some of the Samsung monitors (I have a 22" Samsung 2253 BW) are fairly cheep. I picked mine up for less then $300 Australian. They are probably even cheaper in the States.

Like mentioned above, contrast ratio is important - but just to let you know, if it is OVER 800:1 ratio it is good enough for photo editing.

Anything above, like say 1000:1 mentioned above, is gravy.

And I totally agree with the notion, "get the biggest one you can afford, and go for widescreen if at ALL possible."
