Subject: Question about the Halloween Contest

Digitell ( ) posted Sat, 11 October 2008 at 11:43 AM · edited Sat, 20 July 2024 at 6:44 AM

I just tried to submit to the 2D/photography contest and didnt upload the correct file size image.
There is no way to correct this..I got a page that said file size was not correct and that my image is under review?? I cannot correct it..why can not we be allowed to make corrections?
Also..why are there 3 areas we have to upload to and not 2.
Usually we upload the full image and the thumbnail.
On this we have : File
                                Image
                               Thumbnail

Isnt "File" and "Image" the same thing? This is confusing..
Thanks..
Digitell

I'm sorry you found the entry page confusing.  All 3 contest catagories were setup the same.  The "File" box with a 10MB maximum is for animation entries.  If you are entering the 2D/photography catagory, you need to upload an "Image" and a "Thumbnail" only.  I have deleted your entry and you should now be able to submit a new one.  I will suggest to admin that they look into allowing you to edit submissions until they are approved.  Once approved though, you would not be allowed to make any changes for obvious reasons.

Sincerely,

OK I tried again,
I attached the image file and the thumbnail file. After clicking on submit I get a page that says I must attach a file?? What am I doing wrong? I am using the Photography/ 2D Contest Page.
Please help..
Thanks

You are correct!  This is confusing.  I just tried it too and got the same thing.  Apparently, you must browse to your image and select it for both the "File" and the "Image" box, plus a thumbnail for the thumbnail box to successfully submit an entry.  Sheesh!  I see why you had trouble with this.

OK I uploaded the "File, Image, and Thumbnail and it now says that my entry was submitted successfully.
Thanks a bunch!

Ummm, I'm seeing an entry of 676x816 pixels.  It's still a wee bit too big according to the rules.  I almost hate to ask you to try resizing it and uploading it again.  :blushing:

Part of the reason it's asking you for a separate file upload is b/c that has to be there for animation files.  It's easier to combine the two since we get so few entries to the Animation category.  I will include this explanation in the rules starting for the Holiday Contest.

Glad you were able to get it uploaded.

OK Thanks for the explaination..it was just unclear why we had to upload our image twice.
