Hi Bobby,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with Poser 7 locking up on you. I'm not sure what the exact problem would be that would be causing that but I have a few ideas that you could try.

  • Have you downloaded the latest update patches?
  • Have you tried going to Edit>>General Preferences>>Document Tab and clicking on "Clear Cache."?
  • Depending on how much memory you have for your PC, you may want to update your page file settings. Are you running Vista or Windows? If you'd like to do so, I can type up the directions how in another post.

I hope this helps in some way!

Vista and OpenGL and old nVidia drivers cause nightmares, it seems. Try updating your video drivers if you have an nVidia display

still hooked to real life and enjoying the siesta!

Ah, okay. Have you tried any of the other suggestions? I think increasing the page file size sometimes helps. How much memory do you have on your PC? Are you running XP or Vista?

Hmm, okay. Have you tried setting your page size to 10240? Sometimes when you have a lot of memory, setting it to be a lot higher like that helps. Does your computer seem to be behaved aside from your Poser troubles?

ya everything is fine except pose.r what do you mean set the page size?

Oh, okay.

Here's how you access the page file settings to change them. Right click on "Computer" or "My Computer" (You can usually find this on your start menu or on the desktop.) It should bring you to something called "System." Click on "Advanced system settings" on the left. Then it should bring you to "System Properties." Once you're there, click on the "Advanced" tab. Then click on the "Performance" button. Then you'll see "Performance Options." Click on the "Advanced" tab. Where it says "Virtual Memory" click on the "Change" button. Under "Custom Size" (in the middle) enter "10240" next to "Initial size (MB)" and "10240" under "Maximum size (MB)." Then click on "OK." The amount entered is dependant on how much memory you have. I'm not sure if you should enter this or something lower for 2 Gigs, but you may want to play around with the values.

Hope this helps!
