there was a free version of Bryce 4 released by either 3dWorld, Computer Art, or Digit magazine, but it's been a couple years at least. You might be able to get it from a back issue, but I don't know for sure.

This was offered up some time ago by DAZ. It was supposedly going to be taken down at some point, but it never was. It's complete and never expiring. And, yes of course, legal. ;o)

I have a rather slow lap-top. I'd like to get hold of a free copy of bryce4. I bought b6 this summer, but I don't want to even TRY to install it on the lap-top. I'd really like to be able to use bryce when I'm not at home and then render the scene in b6
