I have a rather slow lap-top. I'd like to get hold of a free copy of bryce4. I bought b6 this summer, but I don't want to even TRY to install it on the lap-top. I'd really like to be able to use bryce when I'm not at home and then render the scene in b6

there was a free version of Bryce 4 released by either 3dWorld, Computer Art, or Digit magazine, but it's been a couple years at least. You might be able to get it from a back issue, but I don't know for sure.

B5 might work too? 5.5 that is. Look in download.com

 Im not sure if older versions are going to be that much faster. Renderspeed optimalizations only kick in starting at version 5.5?

How slow are we talking about? Pentium, Pentium II or Pentium III ?

I have run bryce 5 on a pentium 100 lap top.  For creating scenes it was fine. It was only when you wacked the render button that time stood still.

Its a Siemens 1000 hz with 795 ram.

This was offered up some time ago by DAZ. It was supposedly going to be taken down at some point, but it never was. It's complete and never expiring. And, yes of course, legal.  ;o)

I now run 5.5 on my pIII 1000. But be ware! U cant du much at all. LOL
