Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
You will get in trouble for posting a commercial thread here, but before that happens allow me to nip in smartish and say thanks. Stitch Witch was mentioned in passing in the Texturing forum, but I couldn't get any more information on it. This looks very useful for the texturing-challenged, i.e. me. :)
Wonderful! That looks like such a useful tool! I can't wait to give it a try!

webster2772 - No, I don't have a demo of it, but the help file is pretty thorough and even looks kinda like the app. If you don't like it, you could always return it.
EnglishBob - Thanks for the feedback. Darn, I posted it in the 'showcase' forum and they removed it, so if I don't post here, where am I supposed to post?
Bar-Code - Thanks for the praise and the wicked beta testing you did.
Marque - Nope, it's not the original tunic from Zygote. I will probably be putting it up at Content Paradise soon, we've just started inquiries into making an online store to sell Stitch Witch there.
Acadia - Check your mail at DAZ before buying.
*Darn, I posted it in the 'showcase' forum and they removed it, so if I don't post here, where am I supposed to post?
according to the way they are enforcing things now, you can't post it anywhere on rendo... thats you tho. if someone else posts about it in here, thats ok.. why? because you created it. god forbid you should want to tell anyone.
logical ? no. but thats how it is...*
Sorry Kamilche, that's not a demo :)
Marque, that's what I was looking at also, I was wondering how much difference there would be in my texturing work flow using that, as opposed to doing it the way I do it now. A demo would have shown me. But I'm not going to "risk" a purchase just to find that out.
And yes, I realize that I could ask for my money back, but I would prefer not to have to go through the hassle, thank you :)
I don't know what store I'll be putting it in. I could make my own store, which is a large pain, or I could put it in an existing store, which is more to my liking. There's a few different stores interested in it. I'll keep you posted where its final home is. For now, it's hosted at PhilC's store, and you know he has easy returns - he believes in treating the customer right.
There are many screenshots of work over at that DAZ thread, and comments on the program by third parties. You could read that thread to help you decide.

Stitch Witch is a tool that makes it easy for the average user to create textures for 3D models. Have you ever wanted to take an outfit, and change colors, layers, pockets, collars, buttons, fabric, etc? When you buy textures from artists, you are limited to the styles they provide you. However, Poser users often have a need for a specific item of clothing that isn't available, but don't have the artistic ability to draw it from scratch. Stitch Witch can fill in the gap!www.philc.net/StitchWitch.htm
Here's an example. This set of clothing is reminiscent of a set of clothing I bought years ago for Michael 2.(I bet some of you recognize what it's styled after!) I loved that set of clothing, but seriously needed to be able to break apart the linen undergarment from the overgarment. However, the clothing came as a standard Poser texture, and was not able to do that.
They came out quite well, don't you think? I am not an artist, yet I was able to create the above 5 tunics plus one more, in 2 hours with Stitch Witch.
It does for texturing, what Wardrobe Wizard does for clothing, and PuppetMaster does for posing. It makes it fast and easy for non-artists to create high quality clothing textures. It has tools to automatically add shadows, rotate fabric, tile lace along a curve, add buttons, lacing, and more. It automatically creates the transparency map for you, so there's no need to work that up yourself afterwards. It has an incredibly easy to use and powerful color picker tool, that lets you match colors with ease. It comes with special tools to import OBJ and OBZ templates, create shadowed effects, and much more.
For more detailed information, check out the help file here. The help file looks like the user interface, and clicking on the various controls takes you to help for that area of the program.
It requires a PC with Windows 2000, XP, or Vista. (If this is the wrong forum, please forgive me and point me to the right forum.)
I hope you find this software as useful as I do! Happy texturing,
--Kamilche, creator of Wardrobe Wizard and Puppet Master.
P.S. - Who can name the clothing that inspired this texture set?
