Subject: M4 Developer Kit

Does anyone know if Daz released an M4 Developer Kit and if so, where I can download it from?

I downloaded the M4 Blank CR2 and I imagine CR2s could be set up from that but something like the V4 Developer Kit would work better I think.

Thanks :)

Rick, I didn't see one. I had promised myself this was the last purchase I was going to make on one of my credit cards for the next few months so I bought what they called the Pro Bundle and there was no developer kit. When I purchased such a bundle when V4 came out, it included a developer kit. Maybe they do not have this ready yet?

If you're referring to a blank rig, they're not really too related, M4 doesn't have any of the magnet stuff going on that V4 does, M4 is 100% joint controlled morphs.  The blank CR2 is about as good as it's going to get, pretty much like the DAZ Gen 3 figures.

Well I guess it will have to do then :) I'll try it out and hope I don't have any issues.

Thanks :)

In case anyone is interested - the M4 Blank.Cr2 file worked out just fine. It has to be edited of course but it works out quite well for the conforming figures.

I had a small difficulty getting the shoes to conform properly (they had to be posed into place) but other than that everything else worked out great :)

Is the lack of cr2 magnets in M4 a good thing or a bad thing?

A very good thing, the magnet concept was a good one for some uses, but it just didn't work as smoothly with clothing as we would have liked. so clothing makers still ended up having to do JCMs. the new JCM system for M4 is very easy to work with, most of the jcms actually adjust the mesh inwards so there is a lot less need for fiddling with them in clothing.

Okay, thanks for the scoop. I didn't like the magnets in V4 because it was confusing and bogged the figure down. But I wasn't sure if removing the magnets meant M4 wouldn't pose as well as V4.
