I've been trying to upload to free stuff but it will not except HTM for url, I had no trouble with the thumb pic.I try to direct it to the zip file but then you can not download because it's restricted.I have done this at another site with no problems but I can't figure it out here to make it work. Thanks for any help keep in mind I'm not that internet savey.

I have exactly the same problem and Wizzard's reply doesn't help. Some hosts simply don't allow access to a file if it is linked directly from another site. Even typing in the URL for the zip into the browser returns a "page not found" error. Now with site software like 3dcommune, no problem. Attach the thumbnail to the URL of an html document on the host site that then links to the file itself. The downloader perusing 3dcommune clicks on the thumb, gets a remote page, and downloads from there. But the Renderosity software doesn't allow you to link a thumb to another page.

It wouldn't take up so very much space if Renderosity hosted the thumbnails. Much less space than is taken up in Renderosity by all the art galleries and all the pictures sent in with messages. That would leave onlly the downloads to be hosted out. In old times clicking such a download ink-in-from-the-side on many free webspace providers got the provider's advertisement page, which included a clickable leading to the download; that can be done with a zipfile for download but not with an embedded .JPG or .GIF graphic. Perhaps if Renderosity hosted the thumbnails, free webspace providers might become more willing again to let people link in from outside.

I agree with Phantast that is what happening to me,so is there another way of doing this or just forget the whole thing because there is no other way to do it at Renderosity

I, too, agree that this is a problem. How about for Renderosity to allow .html URLs for links, not restricting to .sit and .zip only --- because the free web space providcers are less and less allowing external links to .zip files. Do you think there is a chance that Renderosity will change its policy?
