Hello everybody.

This is Gary of Gary and Catherine.  I would like to make a formal introduction and to also let you know of my goals as a coordinator here in the VUE forums.

First things first:  I am still with Catherine ( Till death do us part ) but it was suggested to me to split off from her name so as not to confuse anyone here with my work.

Secondly, while this really saddens me, I believe it will be in my as well as everyones best interest for me to not spend the time as I have in the past commenting on people's wonderful work.  Specifically, to not lavish the praise on many of the images I have seen.  It may cause some to feel that some artists are "my favs" because of the high marks I frequently leave on their hard work.   I don't have any particular fav artist as I enjoy everyone's work.  I also wont be rating peoples works as I don't want anyone to feel I am trying to get them into the pick of the week or anything like that.  I must remain above reproach especially, since I am coordinator, I can change ratings behind the scenes.  This I simply will not do and when I submit my images from here on out, I will try to remember to NOT check the "allow ratings" box.  This will prevent anyone from ever suspecting I, or someone else, every tampered with the rating system so as to give my images a rating boost.

Now with the legalism out of the way, I am really looking forward to being able to do more here in the forums and the VUE community than I have been in the past.  I am really excited in creating the monthly challenges with community input.  Also, since I have the ability to create video tutorials, I am looking forward to creating either full length tuts or mini tuts to answer questions, problems and techniques.

Additionally, since many of you are far more "guru-ish" than myself, I will be gratefully relying upon your assistance in helping with many of the technical questions that frequently arise as I haven't a clue.  But, with what I do know, I am willing to freely offer all that I have.

The programs I am familiar with are:
VUE 5inf&6inf
Poser
Photoshop 7 and CS3
Cinema 4d and Bodypaint 3d
My beloved Hexagon
Corel Draw and Photopaint

I am fairly adept in using all of these programs especially when they need to interact with each other in order to achieve an effect.  So don't hesitate to ask a question when VUE needs to interact with, say, Photoshop or Hexagon.  It must of course be primarily VUE related other wise the topic will be moved off to an more appropriate forum for more expidiate results.

With that said, I am eager to begin interacting more with everyone here.
Thanks for your time.

Gary Miller.

Welcome Gary Miller Alone!
Any tuts on the way for Bodypaint?

GaryMiller ( ) posted Sat, 08 November 2008 at 1:54 AM

I am working with Vladimir over at Geekatplay.  I turned him onto a great tutorial creator (you can see his latest tuts for C4d in the C4d area) and he is working with him to get Cinema 4d tuts at Geekatplay also.  Since Bodypaint is also part of C4d I would love to make some tuts for that.  So, yes, BP tuts will be on the way and in video format.  But just be patient.  Vladimir is very busy pumping out the new V7 tuts he has going on right now as well as other things.  It will happen and when it does, I will be sure to post a notice here.

NIce to have ya aboard Gary. I think you will do great in the job and take it seriously. That being said, is there any way you can take care of those Dead Links in the Workshop: Light and Frame, that have been there for so long unattended, just asking,............................ as I did last year!!!

Welcome, o-"flying solo" Gary!
(shakes hand with firm grip and firm nod of acknowledgment)

Looking forward to more tuts, as well as more images to come from your personal gallery - even though I'm not going to be allowed to rate them anymore.

On a slightly sideways OT - what tutorial creation software do you use - I've got Camtasia but haven't made anything yet. Been figuring out what Photoshop tuts I can make that would be helpful.
