I just installed my new Vue 7 Infinite yesterday and am experiencing the following problems:

1. When I use the Numerics Panel in the Object Properties Panel to resize an object (rather than the gizmo in the Main Camera View), the size doesn't gradually increase or decrease as you drag on the axis as it does in Vue 6 Thus you cannot see how large or small an object becomes until you release the mouse button (at which point, it's usually way too large or way too small).

2. Also, in the File > Options, General Preferences tab, no options appear in the drop down list to change to a difference program's interface. 

Has anyone experienced similar problems?  I did the graphics card test and was assured imy card should work fine.

I also tried to install the Full version (did the recommended Typical installation to begin with) but that option would not work.  Instead, I reinstalled over the existing version but the erring behavior did not change.

I am so disappointed with my brand new software and hope someone can help. 

I'm not home and can't test this but, to tell you the truth, I never used any of the things you said. I always resize in the gizmo, I find it much more intuitive and interactive. I'm curious, why do you prefer the numerics panel?
As to the interface, I never changed it, I like it just the way it is.

Anyway, if these are your only problems, I think you should not be disappointed, you should be happy that everything else is running fine! :-)

I think my preference has something to do with the fact that the ObjPropPanel is less cluttered than the Main View.  I have trouble enough reading all the small print & icons and find it easier to work with the Numerics Panel.

As for changing the interface, I started with a different one in Vue 6 so I'd like to stick with that.

Mind you, these are the only oddities I've noticed so far.  I am brand new to Vue (as of Peggy Walter's current LVS class)  and who knows what else might be wrong with the program that I am not sophisticated enough to discover.

I think e-on forgot to add the inteface customization options of Vue6 (did I hear a Oops?), but you can still use your V6 interface, provided you save it as "my inteface colors", "My config", or something you can easily recognize. Save your Vue6 interface, and then apply it to Vue7.
As Rutra, I never tried using the numercis tab with the alt key to nudge up or down the values. When I use the numerics tab ( and I often do) it's to enter precise values, which is, imho, what these tabs are for.

Hmmm....I thought that sounded like a fantastic idea - until I tried it.  I saved the configuration I used in the Vue 6 Infinite PLE version (which is actually the C4D interface)  to the Vue 7 Environment folder, loaded it in Vue 7 Infinite (not the PLE version) but absolutely nothing happens, i.e. the back ground colors, etc. all remain the same.  Am I misunderstanding something?

Well, yes, this can't be done from the PLE, only a full licence of Vue6.

In the Vue 6 Infinite PLE version I was using the Cinema 4D interface.  I do have Vue 6 Easel too but I don't see an option there to change the interface.  I thought I could try to change the Vue 6 Easel interface to the C4D interface, then save it as a cfg file and subsequently import to the Vue 7 Infinite program, but I guess that won't work either?

No easel can't be customized. Was it only the look of the interface you wanted, or also
the shortcuts? If only the "look", I could send you mine, it looks pretty much like C4D.

Well, well, well ... that's very interesting.  I'm am not the only one, it appears.  When I hear back from the e-on development team, I'll let them know I'm not alone in this dilemma.  Thanks for the info.

Mari-Anne, I use the Numerics Panel as well to resize some objects inside Vue. I just did a quickie test (with a sphere), and I can confirm that I saw no immediate change when dragging on the axes.

The changes only showed right away if I  typed in various values or used the little up &  down arrows to alter the size. Perhaps you might want to create a support ticket for this?

I personally use it because I suck at being able to determine real world distances, spatial relationships, etc. So it's helpful for folks like me who can't really tell that my horse is too short and that my person is a giant. LOL!!

And thanks for your input.  Sounds like I should change my habits, eh?!  Actually, the more I thought about it, I realize the real reason I prefer the Object Prop Panel is that the gizmo doohicky disappeared a couple of times and seemed to be outside of the screen.

Hehe.... Funny you should mention it disappearing... I recall that happening a few times with Vue 5.

AnyHOO, you won't have to change your habits entirely, if you don't mind using those little arrow keys or typing in values. : )  Of course, I say this out of my personal bias, because those are the methods I prefer when not using the gizmos.

Eeeeh gads, Angelfire, "aging computer"... I refuse to admit that my 8-mos old laptop might be aging.....but 'tis true.  It's only 32-bit.

I also only use the numeric input panel to enter numbers. When I used a Ford Police Interceptor model in a scene I just typed in the length from the Wikipedia article... Normally I resize by dragging in the three views.
