ok, im trying to make a video using poser and it was going well and all was good till i went to make a 'test' video to see if i was getting my frames correct and my timing right, then i worked out very quickly that there was a basic i cant work out how to do,,,

Q:
how do i set a weapon/prop to be parented by a hulster/leg and half way through a video switch to the hand?

i have tryed Key frames, and that anime frame thingy, but im kinda new and learning quickly, but oviously not that quickly lol, in the 'test' video its frame 5402 when a sword is knocked from model 'A's hand, and sticks into the floor, i had it set as parented to the right hand, and the video worked all fine, as soon as it left there hand i changed the parent to universe then the floor, but then in the former frames the sword is now going all over the place, and the models them selfs are,,, acting funny, :-/

any help on how to change it mid video would be awesome,
thanks to any one out there who knows what there doing lol

The basic problem is that you can't change parenting in the middle
of an animation.

Easiest solution is to make two copies of the weapon.  Parent one to the
hand, parent the other to the holster.   At the start, make the hand-gun invisible
and the holster-gun visible.   At the "pickup" point, make the holster-gun
invisible and the hand-gun visible.

This is especially easy in Poser 7, because you can animate the visibility.
On the 'Properties' tab of each gun, find the 'Visible' box, and change the
little key icon to Animated.  Poser will then give you a dial for Visibility
on each of the guns.   This dial is binary (only 1 or 0) so you can set it
to 1 at frame 1 for the holster-gun, then move to the "pickup" frame and set it to 0.
Do the opposite for the hand-gun.

aaaaaaaaaaaaah!! awesome!! thanks :D i just tryed it and you need to click a sort of green 'key' in the props prop box, that worked wonders! i tryed it with a ball, and this time no one died :D

i take it its the same for something being dropped an thrown etc :) thanks again, im sure i'll be asking noob questions on here again before long lol

take care :)

I tried a lont time ago with Poser 4 and it was frustrating, nice to know we can now animate visibility with Poser 7, never tried.

Thanks for the info.
