Subject: I feel like a total fool but where is my export?

Traligill ( ) posted Mon, 17 November 2008 at 10:45 PM · edited Sun, 05 January 2025 at 2:48 PM

the subject says it!   I am trying to export a tree from Vue 7 in  C4D format .  I export it, fine but for the life of me I can't find my file.  Where should I be looking?
Thanks for any help!

Normally, when saving your export, you've been asked for a location and name. Just try to export it again.

It will export where every you have assigned it to export.  Try the desktop maybe?

Thanks guys! I appreciate your responses.  But that's the problem, I am not asked where to export it too and can't work out how to,  crazy or what?

Strange... I'm not on my computer with Vue right now so i can't try it out. Have you looked at the general settings to see if there is a preferred path for the export?

Vue doesn't obviously ask you.

At the top of the window in Export As you'll see the file format option and under that is File Name text box and a 'Browse' button to the right of the text box.   Hit the button, type in your file name and navigate to your chosen location as you would with any other save dialogue box.

Gill, thank you, problem solved.  I am out of practice with Vue, I have been concentrating on Cinema4D over the pat months.   I did not think to touch the file name text as it was appropriate.!

thanks again.

I had the same problem as you first time I exported.  I can't remember where the file ended up but you'll probably find it somewhere in your e-on folder.  It bugged me knowing I'd saved a file somewhere ....had to track it down and delete it
