I built this creature out of a couple of Sixus1 Zarathants and a Dinoconda. Is it possible to create a single skeleton from the combined skeletons so I can rig this thing as one complete model rather than a bunch of stuck-together elements?

Not really unless you have very advanced rigging experience. it would require massive cr2 hacking, and a simple mistake could bust the figure.

You wouldn't be able to resell it commerically or redistribute it without rtencoding anyway, so I'd just save it out all parented together.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

That's what I figured. The critter is for an animation I have planned, not as a commercial item, I'm just trying to make things easier for myself.

I would do it in Lightwave.

  • export each figure to an obj keeping groups.
  • load each to a seperate layer
  • determine where the figures overlap
        - do a bucketload of selection and deletes to trim each geometry
        - another set of group selects and renames to get all parts unique
  • weld up the joins
  • then use phibuilder to set the hierarchy
and create a figure in poser from phi file
     - adjust joint centers , and all the rest of the joint parameters
  • if you remember to rename surface groups(materials) to be unique yer good on the texturing.

Thats a LOT of work if its not going to be a common use figure.

we would like to see the animation.  ask rebekah for permission to redistribute,
assuming rtencoded file.

Thanks for the information, guys, but hokey smokes, Bullwinkle, I could probably shoot the whole scene in the time it would take to do all that. I think I'll stick with the parented conglomeration.

Thanks. The Sixus1 monsters are my favorites.
