The theme is not as complex as it seems.
The complexity will be in the attempt of portraying, according to the artist, the details of this supposed civilization.
In those supposed scenes, futuristic, projected the current technology multiplying your benefits.
That can cart in an exaggerating heap of useless things that cannot exist in the future.
Energy for instance; Which type, as it will be used?
Transport: Will it be not pollutant? molecular? Underground?
And the weapons? will they exist? if yes, as they will be?
And us, as we will be?
Architecture! difficult to imagine.
Is the logical tendency, to project for the future the same things, done get better, what do have today, is that right?
The evolution will be for projection geometric, numeric or for concept.
Be how it goes, we should use our imagination in the possible purest way.
Will it be that in 3.000 AC thing will exist some?
I already projected my scene, she is common and very simple.
Good luck to all.
Well, I was going to go for Egyptian look. However I will have to scrape that now.

Quote - Give it a chance D. It is less than a week into the challenge and there will be another six weeks to work on something. Let individuals do their own interpretation of meaning of current challenge, please.
Just to to give input thats all, I have no interest in making up other peoples minds on this.
Dhama, your interest for motivating the people on that theme is well coming and your concern in the participation and very fair.
Leaning that challenges are for beginners, where they can test your learning with the opinions of the more experts.
Perhaps it is for that that the participation in most of the challenges is scarce.
The great artists don't participate, perhaps because the challenge doesn't give real prizes.
To participate of challenges for the recognition doesn't have sense very, since in the our works receive praises, comments and critics day by day; and that is enough for our learning.
How do our works in some way go by a proof, then which the sense of participating in a challenge? Fame?, prizes?.
I announced of almost all, and in all I placed works of tests.
It would be very interesting and useful that the votes were accompanied of observations on the work to improve our learning.
Hi Dhama.
I tried to say that in my opinion and for the that I have been seeing in other challenges, the great artists (those more known and mainly those that live of the art) they don't participate for they have not an incentive besides a simple recognition.
It should not be like this, but unhappily it is what happens.
Count how many artists that use Bryce in this community they participated in the last challenge.
The number is inexpressive comparing with the number of artists that you/they use Bryce.
In my simple opinion that is lack of interest, or then motivation lack or even a challenge hotter, but complex, etc....
In any way, same thought I participate like this, and usually with images where I test my new knowledge of the tool.
Verify the challenges lately and compare him/it I number of participants with those that he/she has a prize that is not just a citation in the site; the difference is big.
But in any way, same thought like this, the challenges are valid for whole, he/she makes the community it to rotate.
You even with that topic he/she is making the wheel of the knowledge to rotate, and that is important, but the great challenge actually; it is to do most to participate only for the taste the art.
Hugs.
Sheesh! it's so difficult to give some folk a compliment...
I know what you are saying though my friend... it is quite sad actually. Just goes to show that this Bryce community, in reality, is only being contributed to by us underdogs... (and before anyone starts shouting or taking this as meaning any number of things; by us I don't mean Thandaluz and me specifically, there are more..... really)
On the subject of taking part in a challenge, please dont assume before you know the facts.
To be honest the kudos does not mean much, its nice, but not essential. For me its just finding time. For instance the last major challeneg i took part in was a few months ago when i took up The brysters Hans Holbein idea. That took many many hours..In between work and family took control.... so luckily i'm out of work at the moment and will be able to have a go at this one.haha
My mind is currently stuffed with images trying to decide which one best depicts the scene, or will be original.
I think something we should all remember about Bryce though, is that it is part of a wider stable, and it has the import options either via its own interface, or via Daz Studio. So by using them you are still making a Bryce image - I think the contention is more on the modelling aspect. And because of this softwares limitations, some become fearful of tackling a project.
And to be honest Bryce, as a modeller, still has a ways to go, but look at what you can achieve! i have seen amazing modelling with terrains and booleans, with a limited palette it really gets the mind thinking around corners.
I to was unsure in the early days, but it was really only the practice via these challenges, and the positive support of this forumn that gave me the incentive and skills to become the better Brycer i am today.
So i would say, ...try... if your only reason for entering is to be a winner then that is small thinking.
In all my years on this forumn i have only won the challenge Once. Am i bitter, you bet i .....haha no i still have a busy gallery, gets lots of positive love and feedback. have a modest marketplace income. And all started from picking up a Cover disc with Bryce V4 on it and having a go.
Experience is no substitute for blind faith.

This discussion is maybe for help toward designing a suitable scene or object for the latest challenge.
If the Roman empire (or any other ancient society) existed in the 30th century, it would certainly be a lot more enlightened. I think the technological aspect would be overwhelmingly advanced but not to the extent that everything is geared toward comfort. With enlightenment comes the knowledge that the human being must not be allowed to control others or be controlled by others. In short, maybe an advanced society that sees exploration as a better concept than exploitation.
So, this is what I understand from such an advanced society, even if it were a 'Roman' society for example.
***** A technological yet natural style of architecture. Not necessarilly columns as in the Roman architecture.. as these usually suggest symbols of power...(as in gods).
***** Fuel derived from natural sources such a water or solar energy or even air (wind farms).
*** **Even though such a society might be devoid of physical violence, maybe there would still be the 'human' need for a public *'entertainment' * spectacle; as in 'being thrown to the lions' . So maybe holographic...
Food may be manufactured in great domes, and I think this is a huge cliche that might not even happen in the 30th century. So maybe after another 1,000 years from now, maybe the human being gets it's nourishment from a fluid that contains everything the body requires... Your choice there LOL!
Transport...... maybe molecular transporters instead of vehicles. Would there be starships? Well if there were, they would be in space with no burning of fossil or any other fuels to get from the surface to the 'starship'... again maybe molecular transporter technology.
Well, maybe thats some ideas maybe not everyone would agree, but in that case you could always give your definition.
It's hope that this thread will help with the realisation of your challenge entry.
Please keep the discussion to the topic... i.e., no OT comments please.
