Subject: Character creation with Aiko 4

pennykay ( ) posted Thu, 31 July 2008 at 10:38 PM Ā· edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 10:49 AM

Could anyone help me. I am not even sure if I'm posting this in the right place. If I'm not please forgive my ignorance.
I have tired for many days to make a aiko 4 character and I'm stumped as to injection pose builder as to what I am supposed to do to get her morph to work. I do not even know if I'm saving it correctly from Poser.
Thanks!
Penny

First save the entire morph in your Poser Character(Figures) folder (I have a folder in there named "New Characters" just for that), then you bring that character file into IPB (be prepared to wait a while) and select the V4.2+Aiko4 link under the Link Libraries over to your right. You'll want to choose INJ & REM Poses (click SelectedĀ  just below that and highlight the body and head separately. Will need to do this twice to get an INJ/REM for the head and INJ/REM for the body) and if you used any expression morphs, you'll want to uncheck "Exclude Expressions". Click on Process and once that part is complete, click on Save and place the INJ in the desired pose folder. Same for when the REM window pops up. You can also choose to rename the INJ and REM at this time. Highly suggested to rename them so that you know which is the head and which is the body. Just place a little H or B in the name either right before INJ or right after.

Realmling ( ) posted Fri, 01 August 2008 at 8:20 AM

When saving your figure to the library to have the morphs in the cr2 file as Unicornst states above...you need to make sure you have "Use external binary morph targets" turned off under General Preferences in P6 or P7.

Edit --> General Preferences --> Misc tab --> external morphs (unckecked)

If this is turned on, you'll end up with your morphs in a pmd file that will not work with IPB.

I'm still behind the times and use P5. grin Didn't realize that about P6 & P7. Thanks for the extra info.

Thanks for the help. How do I select Aiko4 and V4 together in IBP? That's not in the library.
And, I do not know how to put it in there.

Do I save the whole character (head+body) as a whole in poser or do I save head- then body?
For some reason when I go into IBP and try this my inject head file and inject head REM, well it removes the whole head and body or it injects the whole head and body. So confusing.

Thanks again!
Kindly,
Penny

I am also interested in making A4 characters.....and knowing that it is a morph of V4....
In the InjPoserBuilder....how do you make the new library for both of them as stated in (V4.2+Aiko4 link under the Link Libraries) I know you have to browse for a character in order to add to the library...but how do you make it V4.2+Aiko4 ?
Hope this makes sense...
thank you for any help,
huggers, Carol

Attached Link: V4.2+A4 IBL File

**Download the link, unzip to IPB/libs and it should appear the next time you open IPB. Select it before you go to load your character that you made. And remember...don't think it froze on you. It takes a long time to get it all loaded.

Penny....you want to make sure you check on INJ and REM Poses and then Selected Actors Only. Then choose which one you want to do first...head or body. Do this for the head and again for the body and you will have separate injects and remove for both head and body.

I had someone pass it to me as well when the one I made wouldn't work correctly, so I'm just trying to help others as I was. You're quite welcome and best of luck on the new character.

pennykay ( ) posted Fri, 01 August 2008 at 1:38 PM

I'm still having trouble- I don't even know how to extract it. I hate being so ignorant!
I'll work and see if I can get it.
Thanks again

Unicornst ( ) posted Fri, 01 August 2008 at 2:06 PM

Attached Link: EasyZip

**You need an unzipping utility first. I'm assuming you have Win-Zip or the one that comes with XP or Vista? You use that to open the zip, select the file and tell it to extract. A browse window should pop up so that you can select the folder you want it in. Look for the IPB folder and then look for "libs". Highlight the "libs" folder and let the program do it's thing to place it for you.

You could also just unzip it to your desktop and then move it over to the IPB/libs folder using drag and drop.

If you don't have Win-Zip or any zipping utility, then grab the free one from the link. Extremely easy to use. I use it all the time.

pennykay ( ) posted Fri, 01 August 2008 at 2:25 PM

Oh my gosh, I actually think I got it. I'm going to restart my computer and try it again, but from poser I can see when I inj the head it works and it didn't include the body this time. And visa versa.
So hopefully** fingers crossed** saying a little prayer it will work.

I have my injection pose builder inside poser 7 and not in it's own folder...do you think I should make just a folder for injection builder?
Thank you for all your help-
You are very kind.
:)

**I'm not going to advise you on where IPB should be. Simply because I don't have a solid answer for that. When I installed it, it went into my Daz folder since I have Studio installed as well. But I would venture to say that if it's working where it is as it should work, then why mess with it?

Crossing my fingers with you.Let us know when you know for sure, okay?

You're very welcome. And thank you in return. smiles

pennykay ( ) posted Fri, 01 August 2008 at 2:48 PM

Well, I was wrong- It don't work.
Here is the steps I followed to see if it worked

  1. I open up poser 7 and go to daz people and find aiko 4, I load her into a new window.
  2. I go to pose folder and load V4 morph injections base and morph++
  3. I go to my folder I created and look for the inj and removes I just made and load face inj and it just distorts her face.
So once again, I'm not sure where I'm screwing up.

Unicornst ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2008 at 9:03 AM

**Can you do screen shots of your injects?

Try this. Try not putting the V4 morphs in and just using the inject you made. If it was done right in IPB, then you shouldn't need to load all of V4's morphs since V4.2 now uses delta's like V3 did.Ā  Also, try loading V4.2 since A4 is just another set of morphs for her and if you did the inject in IPB with Aiko's morphs, again, you should be able to just use the inject you made.

Also, did you follow Realmling's advice before you saved your character in the character folde in Poser?

"Edit --> General Preferences --> Misc tab --> external morphs (unckecked)"

pennykay ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2008 at 4:11 PM

I tried reloading Poser 7 and still no luck.
It's almost as if my IBP is not reading my morphs that I have made. And, I have done everything I know to do.
I will continue to work with it, hopefully I can figure it out.
I thank you for your time and kindness.

Unicornst ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2008 at 6:34 PM

Penny, if you have a way to send your pz2 (the inject poses you made) to me, I can look them over in an editor and see if there's a reason there why it won't work.

winter200 ( ) posted Sun, 03 August 2008 at 4:25 PM

Thank you for making that IPB file available Unicornst! I've been trying for months and never could getĀ the ones I made for V4.2 Ā to work either.Ā Over and over, nothing!!!! The one you loadedĀ works good!!!!

**You're very welcome. I'll leave the link active for a bit longer for others as well.

The real thanks goes to the one who gave that particular IPB fileĀ  to me.

**Hey Everyone,

Seems the IBL file you all downloaded has a glitch in it in that it places readscripts for V3. There's a new one uploaded that doesn't have these. It has the info for making injections using the Base Morphs, Morphs+++ and Muscle Morphs for V4.2. Thought you guys might want to change out the one you downloaded with this one instead.

Sorry about all of this.

yakchat ( ) posted Tue, 12 August 2008 at 4:55 PM

Hi Hon,
Is this one to replace the V4.2 + A4 IBL File?
The V4 one I have in my injPose builder works fine...but I haven't tried the V4.2 + A4 IBL file...it is in my injPose builder tho.
Thank you :-)

Unicornst ( ) posted Tue, 12 August 2008 at 8:27 PM

**Yes, it's to replace that one. I'm still not sure how that glitch got in there, but this one should have that taken care of. Oh yeah, it also has Aiko4. Forgot to say that.

One thing I did find out. If you've already done a character using the V4.2 +A4 IBL file, you can edit those lines out in a text editor and it won't effect the character morphs you created.

Okay this is a really informative thread. After reading this I have finally figured out how to use IPB. Thank you all so much. Now.......I just need to know how to package it all up. I have created a head.inj and a head.rem and they are saved in the Figures tab in Poser 6. Where do I put them now in order to share them as freebies?????

reciecup ( ) posted Sun, 23 November 2008 at 2:42 PM

Sorry....one more question. I just realized that I have done something wrong. When I try to inj my Head morph into V4.......I get tons of error messeges saying that the morphs cannot be found

Here's an example of what I get:

Cannot find a file for "/Runtime/libraries/!Daz/Victoria 4/Deltas/Morph ++/InjDeltas.PHMFaceLong.pz2"

It does that for most of the face morphs. Its only injects a few of them. What did I do wrong. Could I have possibly checked or unchecked the wrong boxes in IPB????? Please help. I really want to learn this.

Unicornst ( ) posted Sun, 23 November 2008 at 3:24 PM

**The inj and rem need to be placed in the Pose folder, not the figures folder.

As for the errors, I'd have to see the actual pz2 or a screen shot of what you had clicked in IPB.

Thanks for the tip on where to put my morphs :o)

I've attached a screen shot of what I had selected in IPB. If you can take a look at it, that would be great. Thanks again for helping.

Unicornst ( ) posted Mon, 24 November 2008 at 8:14 PM

**It might be the name you have for V4. There shouldn't be a bunch of numbers coming after it. It should be V4.2.ill. Try renaming that and removing the one with all the numbers following the V4.2.

You have the correct boxes checked. After that, you did "Process Options" and then after they were listed over to the left, you used the "Save As" right below "Process Options"? You can double check before you save and make sure it's all reading it correctly.

reciecup ( ) posted Mon, 24 November 2008 at 9:39 PM

Thank you. I tried that and it looks like it worked for me. I also checked the box that says " exclude zeroed channels"....it worked I have also figured out how to do the mat poses as well as the packaging. I thinkĀ  I'll offer this one for free since this is my first try at this. I'm excited...cant wait to see other people using my character. Thanks for your helpĀ  :o)
