So i thought it might be a diversion to show a project i worked on with my kids over the summer holidays.

We are all big fans of the new Dr Who, and being in my 40's i remeber the old with fond memeories. So as it was a bit wet during the summer holidays i started a K9 half scale build. Using the PDF of plans available on the internet, and a google of images i started the build. It needed to be a cheap build as well, as budgets were tight, so the model is contructed of 6mm foam-board. Which has proven to be quite rigid and easy to constuct with.

hope you enjoy.

Well done**,** and I'm sure he'll be a very good friend for your children.. ...

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

Looks good - my late brother was an SFX designer at the BBC in the 1970s (the youngest BBC SFX designer ever, in fact), and built the original ones of these for Doctor Who.  I used to have a real one in my Dad's garage....AND a real Dalek (a half-sized one, used on the Spike Milligan Show, as part of a Dalek family), AND a Sea Devil.....wish I had them now, I'd be rich, rich rich....!  Imagine what they'd fetch on Ebay....sigh......

My self-build system - Vista 64 on a Kingston 240GB SSD, Asus P5Q Pro MB, Quad 6600 CPU, 8 Gb Geil Black Dragon Ram, CoolerMaster HAF932 full tower chassis, EVGA Geforce GTX 750Ti Superclocked 2 Gb, Coolermaster V8 CPU aircooler, Enermax 600W Modular PSU, 240Gb SSD, 2Tb HDD storage, 28" LCD monitor, and more red LEDs than a grown man really needs.....I built it in 2008 and can't afford a new one, yet.....!

My Software - Poser Pro 2012, Photoshop, Bryce 6 and Borderlands......"Catch a  r--i---d-----e-----!"
