Subject: What are YOU gonna buy for 50% Off at CP?

I finally choked and bought PoserPro Full Upgrade for Poser 6 & 7 Owners! I just couldn't help myself!

With Poser Pro, I finally discovered the joys of IBL lighting and Ambient Occlusion!  When it comes to creating such photorealism in renders, Vray and 3ds Max are an absolute bummer with by comparison!

Yes Vray is rather complicated to setup its parameters but worth it for realism  in the end

Vray can be quite good, IF and WHEN you've finally finished tweaking it to that Nth degree!  i've been doing an animation in Poser Pro, and I'm just amazed by the results I'm getting just from converting a set of Infinite lights to IBL, and and clicking 'yes' for each one to have the ambient occlusion configured.  The results are definitely comparable to at least MY success with Vray and 3ds Max, and without nearly the heartache.

Thinking about tickets.........I havn't even been pulled over in almost 30 years, but my last time was enough to last. Back when I was young i had this old car, didn't half work, coming up to a stop light and no brakes  cars in front of me stopped. so I swerved left over the sidewalk and right through the front doors of a porn shop, blow up dolls and sex toys, flying everywhere. Didn't live that one down for a few years..................

Their site is not very user friendly so far as navigation and finding things is concerned, so I rarely go there and in fact unless I see someone post about a freebie that interests me, I avoid that site like the plague.

They released the code in the forum.  That's a good thing because I missed the timeline for adding the newsletter to my profile.  Of course, if they didn't do that, they would have missed out on my purchasing content in their sale.

For anybody who doesn't want to shop at ContentParadise, they're losing out on Wardrobe Wizard for $30 (if they have the 50% off coupon) and a lot of other good products. Last week's freebie, a hen, is still free.

Personally I think the "not very user friendly" phrase sometimes means "I don't like it because it's not arranged like Renderosity", but like the other posters have said, to each his own. 😉

And I think the search engine on CP is much better than Renderosity, which makes it far easier to find things. For example, if I search for a "car" at CP (meaning that I'm looking for "automobiles"), I see different vehicles in different formats: automobiles for Poser, train cars for Vue, etc. Sure, I didn't really need a train car, but that's a good match for my search term.
Whenever I search for something at Renderosity, I usually get a few results that are relevant, and then tons of V3 characters, V3 poses, and textures for obscure outfits for sale at DAZ. (Using my example of searching for the word "car" is a bad example since the Renderosity marketplace is actually showing me cars- I'll have to try again with a better search term. 😉)

Actually I agree it is hard to find stuff.  For one thing (my main problem) is the promo render thumbnails are too small for me to see whether I wan tto click on them or not.  And I never know what vouchers i can use how and where so I tend to ignore my vouchers.  I never used to be able to tell if my subscription to passport was about to run out as well.

I don't have a problem with navigating and finding items when I search on CP. Contraray to Rendo, I never can find what I'm looking for and when searching the majority of items found aren't even related to what I've searched for. RDNA and DAZ do have that problem also.

I've purchased a few items I always wanted. I've bought Motion Artist 4 and some items for it. Bought some of Rodi Design's toon stuff, which I do love! I finally cleared some of the stuff that was in my wishlist and I doubt I will ever buy the rest that still in it.

I like the sales going in right now, got some things at RDNA (toon items again) and some things at DAZ, all 3D universe items, that's the only thing that interests me at DAZ. It's only because of 3D universe's newsletter that I was aware of DAZ having a sale, I never visit DAZ. Since they've released V4 and now M4 they only release items that I could care less about.

I had to laught about DAZ's tag line though.....

There's a reason why DAZ 3D is #1 . . .
BLACK FRIDAY BLOWOUT

*

These guys do love bragging, don't they. If that's the reason to be #1 then CP did beat then easily...... one can get 50% off everything there, not only a number of selected items.

Anyhow, they should arrange these sales a bit better and not at the same time, because I've got (I guess that counts for most of us) only have a limited budget to spent each month. RDNA came first, so they did get some of it. The CP came, they got most of it and finally DAZ got some of the left overs. With all the sales going on already, DAZ should have postponed their final blowout a few days and I would have bought a lot more 3D universe items.

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

I pretty well made the choice to go with the CP sale because my wish list for the G2 male was getting a bit too long, and I finally had to give in to the (now long past, it seems) NearMe fad, plus a few Meshbox things. Okay, more money than I planned, but I'm still glad I finally got the stuff.

And Library/POSE add Material buttons?
