Subject: PZ3 causes Poser 7 to Crash

Inspired_Art ( ) posted Thu, 27 November 2008 at 3:47 PM · edited Wed, 06 November 2024 at 12:36 PM

I was working on a single figure scene and saved it.
I then reloaded it with no problem.
I added another figure and saved it
Now when I go to reload the scene it comes up with:
Poser executable file has stopped working
Does this mean that the pz3 is corrupted and unusable?

If other scenes still work, then yes, the PZ3 is corrupted.  There are ways
to check and possibly fix a PZ3, but it's usually less work to rebuild the scene.

That is one reason that I save in increments. I could end up with 10 or more PZ3 for one scene or figure setup. It's handy to be able to go back to a certain starting point and continue on from there. At least you don't lose the whole thing.

Is "Use External Binary Morph Targets" enabled in Poser's Preferences?

Also, watch where you save files in Vista and MacOS Leopard - the Applications folder is READ-only for data.

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.

Tashar, thanks for that tip. I've done that many times in the past...just not this time, lol

kuroyume0161, yes "Use External Binary Morph Targets" is indeed checked.

I normally save my files either in My Documents folder, or on the Desktop. Never had a problem before. 😊

You want to UNCHECK use binary morphs. It messes things up :-)
