Know what you mean. It is a bit of a shock for an American to travel to Europe for the first time. I was looking at an old church in Germany one day...the clergy were buried in the walls with their tombstones upright in the stonework and mortar. The last such burial was in 1725. We don't think things really got going here until 1776 :) So, you can imagine my surprise.

But then everything is relative...I'll bet Ralph49 has the same problem in Australia.

That's a side less seen in our office, we are having murders at the moment with the cleaning contractors, who are NOT! emptying our waste paper baskets, so to me this is very fitting!

OK, Just dropped in for some inspiration & to see what direction this challenge was aheading.
You guys and gals are off to a flying start with some really clever images so lets see what happens when I walk outside.

Not to be a pain in the A$$ here, but isn't this challenge more about PERSPECTIVE and using different points of view/angles for your photo composition? Think like an ant...or bird...get on the ground...up in a tree...look up......not just whats in front of you.

For example...PD154 instead of just taking a snap of the bottom of your shoes...it would have been cool to setup your camera on the ground, pointing upward...you could then look like a giant getting ready to stomp on a bug...get where I'm coming from?

I know these monthly challenges are meant to be fun and whatnot, but to really GROW and LEARN...lets think out of the box a bit, isn't that  what this forum is all about.

Here's one I took awhile ago...just as another example of my thinking here....

I cut the bottom off a plastic cup, then put it over my camera lens to get this unique view of my daughter and the crazy straw.

These are all such great selections!!!!  I need to get on the ball  here and post something!!!  I thought how cool it would be to somehow crawl inside of a bottle, and take a shot of outside of the top .. but .. HOW?  Excellent idea Joe, on taking the bottom out and shooting up .. very good... and I love the underside of the shoe... when I first saw that I thought jeez, now why didn't I think of that???  I'd say that is a perspective from an ants point of view ........... perfect for this challenge.. LETS SEE MORE RONNIE .. and Joe and and and and ............... ME!  lol   smile !!

Tonight I got back really late from visiting Sylvias Mother in Hosp.   (please no funny jokes about the Dr. Hook song 'Sylvia's Mother said' if anyone remembers that one lol)

We came back high up over Blackstone edge  and on a clear day the view looking down on Rochdale's street lights are quite something but we were travelling by bus and couldn't ask the driver to stop to set up a dramatic night-time shot.    So clever ME thought that I would get a lucky shot through the window of the rickerty old bus lol. And this is the result -THE SIDE LESS SEEN because we usually hit the DELETE button !

BTW Sylvia's Mum is OK but very down .

Neat one Alan, I guess this is the side less seen because of the delete button you mention, and yes I do remember the song, in fact it was a favourite of mine :)

LOL - Nice one Alan - It looks like the bus went over a bump just as you pushed the shutter - hence the pattern of the movement...

This is number three for me already...come on January.  This is a beautiful old water fountain made in Paris in 1910 and resident in Kansas City since about 1951.

Hi Ronnie...pretty close. Just about 35 miles away. I'm northwest of Kansas City...Kaufman Stadium is on the east side. How did you come to be a Royals Fan? Or is that a silly question to ask somebody living in London :-)
