Subject: Vue 7 Pioneer beta - what is it?

drifterlee ( ) posted Tue, 16 December 2008 at 9:48 PM · edited Mon, 05 August 2024 at 6:57 AM

I am donwloading the new beta for Vue 7 Pioneer. Does this expire? Is this a simple version of Vue 7? I have Vue 6 Pro studio but can't afford to upgrade. How does Pioneer relate to Pro Studio as far as what is can do? Thanks

All your answers in this thread.

Vue 7 Pioneer is the replacement to Vue Easel.

The open beta is a very simplified version of Vue 7. It is limited in the size of renders and will display a logo in your renders.

But according to the newsletter, after the beta has finished you will be able to download a FULL FREE version, without restrictions I assume. Nice :)

Furthermore, Cornucopia3D and e-on software are happy to offer a full copy of the final release of Vue 7 Pioneer (when available) to all users of the Open Beta, free of charge!

The big deal with Pioneer, is that you can upgrade it all the way to Vue Complete (past Pro Studio) by just adding affordably priced modules ($39-99 IIRC). IMO, that's pretty cool. So, if you don't need a feature, you don't pay for it. And if you later decide you want it, you can imediately go to Cornucopia, and purchase and install it.

That said, it appears the servers are getting hammered pretty hard right now....

I like the modular approach to the Pioneer line, and getting Pioneer for free will help bring in a lot of new users.

I downloaded the beta yesterday evening in about 30 minutes.  Today - can't get to the site.  Hope the server didn't melt!

Been playing with it today and it is buggy...Render is very very slow even on a simple scene...Tutorial seems to have the shakes...And not to crazy about them having there store products on the workflow screens...They should have had a different button on that like Poser does.

hopefully the finished product will correct all of these problems. But over all it's cool of them to give Pioneer for free:)

I haven't yet had any problems, you can turn off the store items using the ghost button.
