That's rather scary.  Do they have your correct name too ? I'm assuming they do as it's been obliterated.  Usually that's not the case..... as in 'Dear PayPal Member' sort of thing.

I'm with melikia  - you certainly should report / forward it to Cornucopia staff.  Have you posted in their forum ??

I got it too. My name was spelled wrong, it was "Arthur" instead of "Artur".

I got response from Cornucopia Moderator:

Hi Mazak, there is nothing weird with that email and if you do email support@cornucopia3d.com *you are in fact emailing this website.

So it´s a legit email, however it´s nice to see that you´re vigilant and bringing forward possible fraudelent phishing attempts to the community and you are right in that people should never, ever reply to emails with their account information, regardless of how legit it looks.

Instead, visit the real website and use the appropriate contact information supplied on the website, however in this case, it´s a legit email Smile

New response it looks I am correct with my Warning!!

Mazak

*well that url you clicked do look very wrong, perhaps i spoke to soon about your email.

Anyway, emailing* support@cornucopia3d.com *is completely safe since it´s the official cornucopia support email, however you should never, ever reply with your account information to any company, regardless of what they claim in their emails, and you should never use a link in an email, as i said, visit the official website instead by typing the url manualy and use the appropriate contact information supplied there.

It´s the only way to be realy safe in this day and age..

I´ll let christie know about this thread, but right now it looks like you were correct, nice catch.

Mazak, thank you SO much for this!  http://larashots.com/images/emote/detective.gif

I have a habit of mousing over links before clicking and looking in the status bar to see where the link leads; so those are times when curiosity definitely saves the cat! (As long as said cat doesn't accidentally click it!) lol

Since I don't like leaving referrer traces (I know, I know, it's an odd thing to care about sticking out tongue) -- I also copy / paste links into a fresh tab instead of clicking links in emails.

Mazak ( ) posted Sun, 21 December 2008 at 12:08 PM

I am check in status bar always the link too, but after the first post of the Cornucopia moderator I needed a proof that I was correct (and my VirusScan says yes :glare: ). I am an old dog that sleeps always with one eye open
