Subject: Vue 7 Pro Studio - Import.skp models????

kenmo ( ) posted Wed, 24 December 2008 at 5:48 PM · edited Fri, 04 October 2024 at 4:16 PM

In the comparitive chart for Vue 7 Pro Studio at E-onsoftware Vue 7 Pro Studio is listed as having the capability to import Google Sketchup models... Yet when I attempt to do so, there is no option for .skp models....

Am I missing something....???

Merry Christmas

Ken

If I'm not mistaken .skp & .shd only work with x32 bit.

I have Windows XP Pro 32 bit....

hmmm - sorry then - IIRC in the EON specs it had a * saying 32x only :(

alexcoppo ( ) posted Thu, 25 December 2008 at 3:37 AM

In version 7 info there is no mentioning to 32-bit only... if SKP import is still 32 bit only it is a clear case of misleading advertising.

Bye.

But I'm using 32 bit.... AND I can't import .skp models....

Anyone, Please...advise...

It does say 32bit only, Alex, and yes, apparently, there's a glitch, skp isn't listed in the list of formats you can load. Been brought already in the official forum. Guess it wouldn't hurt reminding tech support about it....

Well...this sucks....cause that was one of the reasons I upgraded....

bruno021 ( ) posted Thu, 25 December 2008 at 9:52 AM

I think it's a simple glitch, and that skp will be supported in next updates. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't, it was supported in Vue6.

I don't think it supports the new Sketchup 7 (not any of the Vue versions do).  Not sure if that is the problem, but try a Sketchup 6 model.

Nothing with a .skp extension is available for download... In the drop down selection I don't see that extension listed ...

Maybe there is a module to buy from E-on to get .skp import?

Attached Link: http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_7_pro_studio/index.php?page=14&BaseProduct=Vue%207%20Pro%20Studio

Please look at the comparaitve chart. E-on promises this ability is built into Vue Pro Studio 7. It was not available with ver 6 of Pro Studio....

I can't find the modules page.  It looks like E-on as been updating their site.  Did you check their update page to see if there is a known issue with SketchUp still.
