Subject: fireman's carry (or similar) pose for V3 or V4?

MsPeril ( ) posted Fri, 26 December 2008 at 7:27 AM · edited Wed, 27 November 2024 at 4:42 PM

Hi all, I'm looking for a V3 or V4 pose set with one figure carrying another (ideally, over shoulder/ fireman's carry or similar). Has anyone come across anything like that? Many thanks in advance for any pointers :)

Check DAZ3D, they have an old rescue pose set designed for V1 V2.

many thanks for the replies both! the daz set is ok, but not sure how easy it would be to modify for same size characters (...and it's a lot of cash for the set :( ). Thank you so much for the offer, TheOwl - that would be fantastic, but only if it's absolutely no trouble...

Are you looking for a single pose or an animated one by the way?

Are you using this for some visual aid or something?

hey - I'm just looking for a single pose, and it's for nothing more important than a little hobby render - the idea of a one figure carrying an unconscious other just struck me as potentially dramatic and I thought it might be fun to base a render around ...so please don't go to any trouble! :)

I actually thought it would be easy to track down that kind of pose, but after failing to find one, I thought I'd ask if anyone had come across something like that...

pakled ( ) posted Fri, 26 December 2008 at 9:23 PM

oh...I was thinking of the one where 2 firepersons (politically correct?...;) cross hands and clasp underneath the carried figure. That's what I think of as a 'fireman's carry'...however, thats 3 figures in a small space..talking a lot of crosstalk there...;)

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

MsPeril ( ) posted Fri, 26 December 2008 at 10:33 PM

that actually rings a bell, Pakled - maybe it's another type? the fireman's carry that I was thinking of uses both shoulders to support the person (eg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fireman%27s_carry ) - but a single shoulder carry would probably look less cluttered for a render...

I'm 90% done.

Taking me some time for I had to do some chores and its an animated pose I am making. By the way I used V3.

Expect this by tomorrow.

oh, that just looks FANTASTIC! :) ...there's such a great sense of the unconscious weight of the figure, and of the other's straining muscles - it just looks terrific!!! Fantastic that it's an animated pose too (opens up so many possibilities!) and V3 is perfect - still my favorite by far!!! Thank you again for doing this, really so kind of you!!! :)

Being as I was a firefighter and all, would anyone care for both the dramatic (and more correct, but still not recommended these days) two shoulder carry, and the more properly used drag?

(edited to include nudity tag for the ridiculously easily offended)

well, it's VERY much appreciated - and I'll see if my meager rendering ability can come up with something worthy of the renderosity gallery...

the drag and carry poses look great, keith!!! ...and, at the risk of being greedy, I'd certainly love to have them too! :)

My two poses have just been uploaded to ShareCG:

I'm linking to the Freestuff here, but it usually takes a while before it shows.

...wow, that was fast.  It had downloads starting within 15 seconds of showing up.

Oh, not saying anything is wrong with the one-shoulder carry (and it is a good animation), just that it isn't recommended to be used in the real world.
