With Christmas over and 50% off sales to get rid of unsold Christmas merchandise, now is the time to buy a mirror Christmas ball ornament. I picked up some plastic ones at WalMart. Glass balls have a better shine, but they are extremely fragile.

SmithMicro has a tutorial about how to use it to create HDRI light probes.
