Subject: Poser 7 Crash problem with Daz v4 help request

Dynamo ( ) posted Fri, 24 October 2008 at 6:18 AM · edited Sat, 14 December 2024 at 11:18 AM

Hi, I have been away form poser for some time, Im trying to restart a comci using P7 (v7.0.4.222) with Victoria 4.2 or A4.  The problem is on import of these figures poser crashes with no error message whatso ever.  the Process is LOAD>MOVE TRACKBALL>CRASH.

I had been using D|S without error .  My system specs are

AMD5400 Dual Core 2.81
XP SP2
4 Gigs of RAM
NVIDIA 7900 GS (PCI-E)

I have removed and reloaded all the software to this point including models to check for corruption.  This does not Occur on non V4.2/A4 models such as Sydney.  Any help would be appreciated as Im dead stopped on my comic until i can figure out wether to just use p7 content or what.

It has been around for awhile. I'm guessing that you are using the OpenGL Display with Poser 7 SR3? Try using SreeD Display.

I believe that the problem stems from the nVidia Card.
Do you have the latest Drivers, 178.xxx???

No idea as to Why, but this cure my nVidia OpenGL problem, see attached.

I changed my card settings fro Theaded optimization "Auto" to "On".
OpenGL now works just fine in both P7 SR3 and PoserPro.

Wow
I sure am glad I found this post.  This  problem has been driving me nuts for the past few weeks. I could not figure out  and still can't.why this problem would occur on V4 characters
with certain textures and not on others. I changed the setting on my graphic card as you suggested mariner and bingo everything is working fine now..I would have never figured
this on out!!! If Smith Micro or Nvidia does not know this they ought to post it.
Again thanks Dynamo for Asking and Thanks Mariner for answering.
