Thanks Dr., but this much, at least, I am passed.
To be clear, I can make single-layer, non-detailed basic clothing in Max and turn it into Poser cr2, complete with joints and morphs and the whole enchilada.
The only problem? Awful or no detail. Why? Because no existing tutorial teaches you how to even think about tackling detail issues. Oh, there are a couple I have seen, but they pretty much assume you know everhting already and gloss over the finer points.
This one guy I watched created an entire mesh with polyboost in about 50 seconds. It was like watching that old PBS show where the guy would do landscapes in forty minutes with only a spackle spreader and a tube of off-white.

The attached link might be of some interest, if you have not already found it...."If I were a shadow, I know I wouldn't like to be half of
what I should be."
Mr Otsuka, the old black tomcat in Kafka on the Shore (Haruki
Murakami)
pjz99 is very good too, (though I havn't seen him around lately) And he don't mind sharing his techniques and thoughts on modeling. I wish he were still here. You might contact him. He can do seams and buttons and all those things and every time I've talked to him or asked a question he always answers.

Hi WTB,
I know ... I was just funnin' ya .
You have a good rant/question which, I am sure, will illicit some productive responses.
(I wuz just getting in a free plug for my clothing tut - old as it may be, maybe someone can make some use of it.)

I agree and is true of many tutorials (not just for making clothes, etc.) The one writing the tut seems to assume a lot of the reader that they are experts or something. Very frustrating.

You must be referring to the late Bob Ross. Always liked watching him make his 'happy trees'! LOL!
His show is still on PBS (Saturdays around here). Plus there is a website too, BobRoss.com. His son takes care of all that now, I believe.
Ennyhoo...I completely empathize with you here. Trying to learn things like this and hunting for tuts that will help more than confuse is, as I said, quite frustrating. Not knocking those with great tuts like the good Doc G, and PhilC, they've been a tremendous help!
I dunno....mebbe we're just moving along further in our development and needing to learn even more things. And most tuts seem to be geared toward those just starting out.
