THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: OT Interesting....the majority of images posted....who tops the list?

Is this site still a Poser majority site, or has it morphed into a Photography site?

I did a little unofficial, not very scientific poll of all the images posted to the Whats New Gallery over a roughly 45 minute span from 2:46pm to 3:24pm and a whooping 291 images of all types were posted, of those here are the results
Photography - 100
Poser - 70
Fractal - 29
Daz Studio 25
Mix medium/2d - 22
Vue 18
Bryce - 11
3DS Max -5
Cinema 4d - 3
terragen - 3
Carrara - 3
Digital Comix - 2
ZBrush - 1
MojoWorld - 1
Beginner - 1

I was surprised to find Photography in the top spot and Poser second! Even Poser and DAZstudio combined didn't beat out Photography. Now I realize that this is really a small period of time and I realize that over the long haul results might be different, but this is the second time that I have taken a poll like this and the first time, Photography came out on top too (earlier today about 4 hours before this second poll).

What is a little depressing is that Bryce only finished in 7th place with a paltry 11 images, but take heart Brycers as I believe that those 11 images showed more skill and creativity than all the Poser/DAZ Studio images combined. At leasst thats my opinion, and I'm sticking with it!

The reason I decided to keep track is because as I browsed the gallery I thought that I was seeing a lot of Photography photos, more so than anything else and as it turns out, the numbers seem to bear this out.

Well from mixed medium downwards I think a lot more time is needed to make a decent image.

Thanks for your time

Clearly people dont get fed up with opening poser, adding some metal underwear to V4 and rendering!

You can take a couple dozen digital pics in a few minutes. If you go for the 3-per-day posting option, you can just outproduce most digital artists.

Originally, this was a Poser site, and remains (for good or ill) a Poser-Centric site. That explains number 2.

Daz Studio and Terragen are free, but it takes a certain kind of focus to produce one landscape after another (without foliage, at least...;)

Think of it this way; you'll also notice that more and more talent is needed as you go down the list. And the quality increases...;)

Art is to be seen.
To evaluate, to measure, to punctuate, to say, etc... it is a simple reaction of our competitiveness.
I already had that same concern, now not more.
Unhappily a lot of prejudice exists with works done with Bryce.
Nor everything that we see is that that we see, with a retouching the witch sees mis universe.

Your concern is also mine.
Hugs;

Before I knew a bool-LeAnn from a meaty-ball I knews me how to click on a camera. And yes I can see photography taking first. If I could afford film and bat-Terrys I'd still be clicking away with the old Minolta even today. Well I had an Olympus but that was long ago in a place that was far far away . . .

Despite what THEY say, my personal belief is that "one picture in a thousand is worth a word".
.. and you can quote me on this about that.

Say, you don't think that if I photographed a Jello commercial that the pudding would be in the proof, do you? ??? . . . or would it? !

The good news still is, Bryce is featured on Renderosity.  On DeviantArt, probably not nearly as much.

Regardless of Poser or not, I like the Maturity of Redno, vs other art sites.

I wonder if behind the scene Rendo has some kind of Statistics setup?

Good points al, pakled.....although it takes about the same time to upload all files, no matter what program they were done in

tom271 - too much time on my hands? I don't think thats the case.....I have always been really busy....why today for instance, I am really booked up. today I only have 24 hours open and the rest of the day is filled.

it takes me about 2-hours/2 days to produce one pic...;) and mine are middlin'...;)
