Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 27 1:15 pm)
If I were you, I would just manually copy the files or Runtime from your (I can't remember the exact path the old OS 9 installer used) OS9 Applications folder where Poser Pro Pack was originally installed, to your new Runtime in your Applications/Poser6/Runtime folder. The problem is that DAZ never updated the old installers to use an OSX compatible installer.
Also, you could try just adding a new Runtime in Poser6 and point it to your old Poser Pro Pack runtime.
Also, if you can run your Mac in Classic Mode, you could always just change the file path in the installer to install it in your Applications/Poser6/ folder instead of the default path.
Just some ideas.:)

No problem.:) If you run into anymore problems or have any other questions, just let me know!
Oh, and, as a Mac user, PhilC has an invaluable little free utility that allows you to unzip Poser files directly into your runtime without having to manually copy file by file so as not to delete the contents already in the folder:

Check it out! It will make your life SO much easier!! Thanks PhilC!!

Hi friends...
I am having a different problem with my new imac (leopard). If I have previous runtimes that are not in a application installer then I can't copy the runtime into my runtime in poser, it overwrites my entire runtime with that one new runtime I want to copy. So until I find something that installs it I am screwed on the thousands of dollars of misc poser files i have purchased. Seems I can only install daz files. Does anyone know of a good program. I did buy that poser converter for 5 bucks but not sure what else to do.
I do have to say the mac is so much faster than windows in rendering images or rendering movies/animations. I am excited about that prospect.

Kimberly.3D:
There are two different programs that you can use:
One is Ditto. You can read about it in the Macintosh forum here at Renderosity:
www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php
or go download it here:
http://web.mac.com/ilikecomputing/SoftwareDev/dittoGUI.html
The other one is a program in the store here:
www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php
or if the old runtime is on the same computer you can just add it in Poser. It works at least in Poser 6 and newer and I believe in Poser 5 as well.
Sounds very good. I will download it and give it a whirl. Thank you for the info it is much needed.
I just also found this one called RSRConv. It converts the images and installs or both. I like it so far. It didn't cost anything but you can donate. I will for sure since it is working well.

All you do is drag the file into a box on the application and boom it merges the file into your runtime where ever you designate and takes care of the picture files as well.
Yeah!!!!
Thanks for the help. I am very much enjoying art/animation on my mac but it seems if I want to create anything to sell it is best to do it on my pc.

I am using Poser 6 on a Macintosh running OS 10.3.9. I have some DAZ files I need to reload or update from when I used Poser Pro 4 running OS 9.2. Every time I try to run the updates or install programs my computer wants to restart with OS 9.2. I would prefer not to do that. Is there any way I can run the updater or installer in my current operating system? I would be willing to do a manual install if that was necessary.
