THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: THUMBNAIL NUDITY!!!!! - You must read this!!!

The above pic shows acceptable amounts of nudity for thumbnail images. (Click for bigger pic)

I bet that got your attention.
Some of you, and I don't just mean in the Bryce Forum, are just getting it wrong. Thumbnail nudity and nudity and violence as such is a real problem for some artists in that they can't work out why, when they click the NUDITY tag, their thumbnail image still shows a miniature of their main image.
So, here is the lowdown.

If you fail to upload a thumb, our system automatically generates a thumb for you, which is a miniature of your entire image. If your image contains nudity or violence, you must not use this feature. You must upload your own thumbnail which excludes the nudity/violence.

Further, thumbnail images for all areas of the site may not display nude female breasts, male or female genitals or buttocks, or graphically violent images.

No nudity. This implies no clothes, clothes that are transparent or blurring of nude images.
No areola or nipple exposure, and no transparent fabric.
No exposed buttocks – more exposure than a standard bikini bottom would constitute nudity.
No exposed male or female genitals
No Sexually Suggestive Language
No  "Censored" language/images (some examples: "Warning: Nudity Inside" or black bars covering breasts/genitals)
No depictions of injury being caused to any living creature. This includes, but is not limited to, injury from either piercing or edged weapons/tools, projectiles, fire/chemical burns, blunt force trauma, punching, kicking, slapping, strangulation or crushing. This also includes accidents and self-harm.
Weapons may be shown providing a) they do not have blood on them, and b) the injured victim is not visible.
Images of minor bruising, burns or bloody wounds that have already occurred are acceptable.

Here endeth the lesson.

"black bars covering breasts/genitals)"

This isn't allowed?

Isn't that the same thing the bikini does?

Now your saying we must coverup our thumbnails??? But if I do that it makes it even harder to type and as it is now with my thumbnails exposed I still make typing mistakes. And do you have any idea just how difficult it is to find clothes that fit my big thumbnails? And anyway the cost of covering up thumbnails is not even figured in my budget. This will bankrupt me.....Hey, wait a minute....maybe I can apply for bailout money from the government. I'll have to get back to you on this one.

tjohn...we have in fact been thru this discussion many times as Mods, but mostly in Poser world which is becoming more prevalent in the Bryce Gallery since the advent of thee DAZ bridge. The difference is that **black censor bars are added after the fact** and not in the full image, where a bikini is **worn by the 3D model/human concerned**. and is in both thumb and full image. If a member doesn't wish to crop a thumbnail from their image they can always insert the Content Avisory thumb I've added here as their thumbnail.. ...

And those Content Advisory are a sure guarantee to generate more hits than your average thumbnail cropped or manhandled to be on the safe side.  Go ahead and try it. There are a lot of perverts on Renderosity, who can't get enough of their daily recommended dosage of NVITTWANSANMWV (Nekidd Victoria In The Temple With A Nekkid Sword And Nekidd Man With Violence.)

BTW I wasn't even going to go there but this topic was very interesting considering how many hits one could cultivate with this "teaser".

Bobby,
We're talking about people pretending their image contains nudity to get more hits?

???

Why would it matter? IE no $$ involved.  Don't let my ignorance offend you please.

BTW I just went through my gallery and tried to crop any thumbs that could be considered offensive.  If one of you guys have time could you let me know if I missed any?
Thanks
John

So, in essence, as artists wanting to depict scenes from the Greek Classical wing of the Museum Of Modern Art in New York, we would not be allowed to show the multitude of unclad classical Greek statutes? So the entire early Greek and Roman culture of art is out? Now, that’s not only obscene but absurd, so much for freedom of artistic expression! It’s okay to show it in the open public forum of a museum in a crowded metropolis but not here in a community of artists. Just doesn’t make sense as long as the artistic work is done in good taste.

bobbystahr ( ) posted Mon, 19 January 2009 at 7:12 PM

Sculpture is exempt from the nudity guidelines if is is obviously sculpture like for example Venus de Milo or David..modern as well, but it has to be an obvious sculpture.
tjohn
the Content Advisory and in fact the Nudity rules ie: tagging the image, are in place for the benefit of members who don't wish to ever be exposed to a Vicki exposing herself again, and are how we filter the nudity. Were I not a Mod I'd have the Nudity flagged for me as well I'll tell you. So spuriously tagging Nudity or using the Content Advisory thumb will get an education warning first time and the next time a mark on the record.

Ahhh… I stand corrected… okay, so this only pertains to thumbnail images of larger works. It does not pertain to the body of work as it were but clarity through thumbnail depiction of the larger work. Phewwww, thought we were headed towards anarchy here. Thanks for the clarification. But if this came up in 2007, what's it doing here today?

Yep, read the original title and I jumped right to where all the NO’s started as in;

So if Bobby hadn’t put the breaks on I wouldn’t have visited the posted link which forced me to reread the thread. So my apologies all around for jumping the gun.

Rosie, that is not true! They aren't nekkid... They are wearing their bark, nicely waxed and polished for the occasion.
Can't say the same for one sphere named "Jane" or "Janet" that looks like a pierced nipple. I had a hard time figuring out  what it was til I closed one eye,  turned my head sideway and held my left foot while performing the jump the broom dance....

(As of this posting, it had been taken off. Don't know why. Maybe someone complained?)
