Subject: Vue 5 Infinite and Poser 7.

Could somebody please tell me what Im doing wrong here, when I used to use poser 6 I could import pz3 files into vue? But since I upgraded to poser 7, this is no longer possible. Am I managing to totally forget something, or is there a compatibility issue between VI5 and P7? Oh yes, Vue comes up with the window, unable to read file` if thats any help.....
Regards, Paula.

Vue 5 only goes as high as Poser 6 for imports.

Your only 2 options are to use Poser 6 for anything you wnat to import into Vue instead of Poser 7, or upgrade to a newer version of Vue.  Poser 7 import is available in Vue 6 onward.

I had a horrible feeling somebody was going to say that, lol.
And since I don`t really want to go back to Poser seven, I guess I better have a look at how much a newer version of vue will be.
Thank you for the info.....
Paula.

There is one onther option......export your scene as .obj and import that rather than a pz3. That would work - though I would suggest that you create a library in your bitmaps pointing to your Poser runtime textures otherwise you'll be searching forevermore on a file with lots of texture maps.

I just had a look at the Vue site, nearly fainted when I saw the pricing, but I think Ill bite the bullet and go for the new version 7. However, didnt I hear that there`s a problem with the poser skins? I noticed a few folks in another thread saying that the skin colours go a bit green when they are imported into Vue.

Skins go green only if you use the Poser shader tree for rendering. If you use the Vue shaders they are fine.

Thank you for letting me know about the skin shaders, I think I might have the problem solved, when Gill said try using Poser 6 for importing, I didnt think Id be able to, stupidly I thought that installing the poser 7 upgrade would wipe off poser 6, but it hasnt, and as I use external runtimes, I dont have to reinstall all the content, only the main figures and morphs, ( V4, A4, etc) So, fingers crossed, if it works I won`t be paying out for Vue 7.......

Regarding the "green hulk" issue when using Poser shaders in Vue7 - it only happens when the diffuse colour in Poser isn't white - it is quite common in Poser skin shaders that the diffuse colour isl ight blue. e-on and Smith Micro are working on it - I hope that they'll fix it soon. 😄
