Subject: January VUE Challenge

With the new year here, lets start things off with some suggestions.  My idea for the January challenge is to create an object with only primitives.  Here is the link to Chipp Walters tutorials for primitive modeling.
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2759677

I found it to be very informative as all of his stuff is.

So the idea is to create an object whether it be a car, cool building, character whatever and do it all with primitives.  I would greatly welcome some additional or alternative ideas for this challenge.  So whatcha think?

P.S.  I still have the December challenge posted because I still have to reward the winners and until I make contact with each participant/winner I want to leave it up there.  But consider it officially closed, locked and permanently barred.

Great idea Gary. I notice the tute is for Vue 7 pioneer.

Having already perused the tutes do you think they would work with Vue 6?

I have downloaded the beta so would still give it a go but would prefer to continue with 6 for some time.

I'd like to see the models displayed in context with a free reign on what genre we choose.

Yes - Metablobs and Booleans work great in 6.
Fire it up and start having some fun!

Good idea - I might even have some time to do this this month!

I think that is a very primitive idea.  I assume texturing the prims is allowed.  That is basically doing a "Second Life" model in Vue since all you have is prims you can texture in Second Life.

Hardware:  Cyberpower PC,  2 - i7-3970X CPU @3.50 GHz (12 Total Cores), 32 GB RAM, 2 - GeForce GTX 690 $GB Video Cards, 2 - Viewsonic V3D231 23" Monitors

Software: Poser Game Dev, Vue xStream 2014, 3ds Max 2014, Maya 2014, Mudbox 2014, Corel PaintShopPro, Unreal Engine 4, Iron Python

I've seen some pretty amazing stuff created with basic primitives, allowing pretty free rein to use as booleans, texturing as one likes, even using displacement mats, I think this could be a great idea with some interesting results - might even join in this one!

Here's my answer to the primitive challenge. It was pretty fun to do....

These are all primitives with hypertextures and metablobs. Postcards from the Rim materials, Gridmodeler and VueTools.

Nice theme (modeling in Vue) !
I hope I won't be late with my scene (now, just think it over).
Always have some ideas about (primitive) modeling in Vue, as it's the only package I have (not mention blender, but I'm just started my researches with it).

Can somebody point me how to (where) publish my picture ? Well, rules of challenge?
